Jeffrey Epstein was banned by Xbox Live
by Rob Beschizza · Boing BoingAfter his first conviction for procuring a child for prostitution in 2008, financier Jeffrey Epstein didn't want for human companionship: from Prince Andrew to Elon Musk, there was always a steady stream of pals, associates, courtiers and outstretched palms coming his way. One institution, though, permanently closed its door to the billionaire pedophile: XBox Live. He was permanently banned from the platform. Jesse 'Doncabesa' Norris with XBoxEra spotted it in the latest dump from the Epstein Files.
It's the latest in a day full of incredible revelations from this document lease. From the President of the United States, Donald Trump, being accused of holding auctions where he would sell off teenage girls after molesting them, to the world's richest man, Elon Musk, who appeared to be in a back-and-forth conversation about visiting Epstein Island via emails, the new information has been coming quickly. Of course, legally, these are all allegations and accusations, though the email above does appear to be an authentic one sent to an email operated by the Epstein estate on Xbox Live.
Though the form letter is vague, another email makes the reason for the ban clear: he was a registered sex offender in the State of New York.
Dear Xbox LIVE member,
This message is to notify you that Xbox LIVE has permanently suspended the Xbox LIVE account associated with this email address. This action is based on the New York Attorney GeneralAs partnership with Microsoft and other online gaming companies to remove New York registered sex offenders from online gaming services to minimize the risk to others, particularly children. As a result, any Xbox LIVE account associated with this email address will not be able to connect to Xbox LIVE.
Fortunately for Epstein, though, he received a prorated refund for any remaining points on his XBox LIVE Gold subscription. Losing those might have been an injustive worth calling Bill Gates over.
