Burning Man's Orgy Dome got wrecked by 50 mph winds, now needs $30k to get properly erected again

Burning Man's Orgy Dome has survived two decades on the playa. Pumping away through the dust, the heat, and an inexhaustible human capacity for nudity in inhospitable climates. What it apparently could not survive was last year's 50-mph winds. The iconic "camp," run by the nonprofit Consensuality Inc. and drawing around 10% of all Burning Man attendees annually, is now on GoFundMe asking for $30,000 to rebuild.

Organized by a nonprofit called Consensuality Inc., the Orgy Dome has operated for over 20 years and typically draws between 8,000 and 10,000 Burners each year, roughly 10% of all attendees. Although the operation may sound amateurish, it's an elaborate undertaking that includes around 80 mattresses, 34 floor air conditioning units and 2,000 sets of sheets, all manned by a team of 100 volunteers. Last year, 50 mph wind gusts rocked the structure, which is comprised of a series of interconnected carports, causing it to close.

"We got f—ked too hard," read a whiteboard sign placed outside the dome.SFGate

It would appear the unicorns are rising to the occasion, the GoFund me already tops $22k.
