Beholden to Big Tech, Grandpa Pudding Brains demands more data centers

by · Boing Boing

Don't want a giant ghost building full of power-sucking, heat-generating computers at the end of your street? Enjoy being "backwards and poor," says Diaper Don.

Folks building data centers for the AI bubble now eye neighborhoods with excess power and space. What was meant to be headroom for your community to grow, housing to be built, or businesses to employ people suddenly looks like an unmanned goldmine humming at the end of your street. Donald Trump thinks you should be grateful.

Data can live just fine next to power generation stations out in the middle of nowhere. Put them at the foot of a dam, next to the nuclear power plant. No one wants to live next to a monolith pumping out hot air to generate CSAM.

The Golden Goose would like access to your electrical grid.
