Aged & Ore's bottle kit packs TSA-compliant cocktails for travel
by Séamus Bellamy · Boing BoingEven if you fly business class, the mixers available on most flights are understandably limited. Flight attendants don't have the time and sure as hell aren't paid enough to be making Zombies, Old Fashioneds, and Kinky Pinkies at 30,000 feet. By the time everyone's drink orders were filled, it'd be time to land. And once you arrive at your destination, the short time you're staying put might make buying the hooch required to whip up your favorite cocktail feel like more than a little wasteful. If you fly carry-on only, like I do, bringing bottles home in your luggage won't cut it with airport security.
So when I saw the Aged & Ore Bottle Flight, my ears pricked up and my tail got all bushy. It's a travel-ready cocktail kit designed to let you bring your favorite drinks or the elements thereof with you, everywhere you go.
Inside the kit's zippered hard case, you'll find four TSA-compliant three-ounce silicone-wrapped glass bottles (a six-ounce version is also available for overland adventures). The glass keeps the booze from taking on the taste of the silicone and the silicone keeps the glass from slipping out of your meathooks. The bottles feature a wide mouth to make filling them up a cinch and a label window that lets you see what's inside and mark them with an erasable marker.
I can't wait to get my mitts on these things. If you'd like to snag a set for yourself, you can score them on the company's website or via Shop.
