India’s first bullet train slated for Aug 15, 2027 launch: AIR

New Delhi, Jan 2: India’s first bullet train is expected to be launched on August 15, 2027, on the Mumbai–Ahmedabad high-speed rail corridor, according to All India Radio (AIR).

Quoting Railways Minister Ashwini Vaishnaw, AIR reported that construction of the country’s first bullet train project is currently underway between Ahmedabad and Mumbai.

The minister said the project will be commissioned in phases, with the Surat–Bilimora stretch set to become operational first, followed by the Vapi-Surat section.
