New Delhi, May 16: The United States and the United Arab Emirates have agreed to build a massive AI data centre complex in Abu Dhabi.

The facility, announced during President Trump’s visit to the UAE, will have a capacity of 5 gigawatts, making it the largest data centre project outside the US.

The initial phase includes a 1-gigawatt centre, with plans to expand across 10 square miles. The project aims to boost American tech presence in West Asia or the Middle East and support global AI infrastructure. The UAE has also pledged to fund similarly powerful data centres in the US as part of the agreement.
