Discover how to clean bathroom tiles in just five minutes with this simple mop hack
by Rebecca Koncienzcy, Sophie Harris · BristolLiveMaintaining the cleanliness of bathroom tiles is crucial for hygiene, preventing damage from accumulated dirt and grime, and preserving their aesthetic appeal. Regular cleaning can also inhibit the growth of mould and bacteria, which often thrive in bathroom grout.
However, scrubbing each tile individually can be a monotonous and time-consuming task. Hence, I decided to experiment with various hacks to identify the most efficient method.
Surprisingly, a trick involving my floor mop proved to be the quickest and easiest solution. The Flash Speedmop is an excellent tool for tackling daily dirt. It's easy to assemble and incredibly versatile, reports the Express.
It's suitable for use on a variety of hard surfaces, including wood, ceramic, vinyl, tile, and lino. Having used it on my wooden floors and downstairs tiles for years, I decided to test it out in the bathroom.
The wipes are pleasantly scented and contain a potent dirt-dissolving solution that effectively removes grime from surfaces. They're twice as thick and moist as regular floor wipes, and both sides can be utilised for maximum efficiency.
To clean my bathroom tiles, I simply attached one of the handy wipes and swept the mop up, down, and across the tiles. It successfully removed any stubborn grime and left them with a pleasing finish.
This method was particularly useful for cleaning the tiles around the bath and shower, which are typically difficult to reach. I managed to clean the entire bathroom using just one wipe, leaving it looking incredibly fresh and spotless.
The only drawback to this method is that these wipes are disposable, which isn't ideal for the environment and can also be quite expensive. However, if used sparingly for deep cleaning sessions, I believe the time-saving benefits make it worthwhile.
Alternative methods for cleaning bathroom tiles could involve using a brush or even a toothbrush to reach those tricky nooks and crannies.
