When I saw Tala’s new-in Everyday Tailoring Multiway Oversized Blazer, I knew I had to get my hands on it. A blazer that’s versatile, oversized, and features a hidden button for gathered sleeves that actually stay in place? It's a yes from me. With winter looming, I wanted something that would effortlessly go over my chunky knits without making me feel like I was bundled in a puffer jacket.

Let’s talk fit first, because that’s where I had a bit of a moment. The blazer is boxy and oversized, which is absolutely on-trend right now, but it’s definitely something to keep in mind when you’re picking your size. I went for a small, thinking I’d need the extra room, but I probably could’ve gone with the extra small. If you’re on the fence, size down! Trust me, you’ll still get that chic oversized vibe without feeling like you're drowning in fabric.

That being said, the oversized fit is also one of its best features. It’s designed to give you that effortless, just-threw-this-on look that we all strive for in our wardrobes. I mean, the ability to slip it over a thick jumper is a game-changer. No more awkwardly trying to stuff your sleeves into a too-tight blazer. The shoulder pads are another win - they add a bit of structure and polish, making the blazer look way more expensive than it actually is.

The oversized fit is great for pairing with dresses or chunky knits

Now, the fun part; the smart arms. There’s an internal button on the sleeves so you can gather them up for that slightly scrunched-up, casual look or leave them loose and long. It’s such a simple feature, but it makes a huge difference in how the blazer looks when styled. Personally, I love a gathered sleeve, especially when you’ve got a chunky knit peeking out from underneath. It adds dimension to the outfit without much effort.

As for the quality, it’s seriously impressive. At £139, it’s definitely not the cheapest blazer out there, but you can feel where the money goes. The fabric has a good weight to it, so it hangs nicely, and the lining feels luxe, which is always a nice touch. The black version, which is available in sizes from 2XS to 4XL, is a true staple. The grey and pistachio are also stunning additions to any wardrobe, though both are sold out in an extra small, but available in all other sizes.

The hidden inside button on the sleeves means you can wear them scrunched up without them falling down - so smart!

While £139 may feel like a bit of an investment, I think it’s justified by the quality and fit. It’s the kind of piece that can be dressed up for work or thrown over a hoodie for a cool, off-duty look. And let’s face it, finding a blazer that can do both is no small feat. Plus, it’s perfect for winter layering - it actually fits over those chunky knits and thicker pieces, which is a dream.

That said, if the price has you wincing a little, there are definitely some more budget-friendly alternatives out there. For example, H&M has a great oversized blazer at £54.99. It’s got a similar boxy fit, though without the shoulder pads, and it’s perfect for that casual but put-together look. Another option is Boohoo’s Oversized Textured Wool Blazer, which is currently on sale for £41.25 (down from £55). It’s a little lighter on the tailoring side, but if you’re after the oversized look without breaking the bank, it’s a solid contender.
