With community-focused programs like Xbox FanFest, the Xbox Insider Program, and Rewards with Xbox, Microsoft has revealed that the Xbox Ambassadors program is ending. This current season will be the program's final as Microsoft looks to expand other services like Rewards with Xbox and Xbox Research.

Microsoft announces the end of the Xbox Ambassador program

As announced on the Ambassador website, this current season will be the program's final as Microsoft is shuttering the website on October 15. For the last 13 years, Xbox Ambassadors have been hosting live streams, providing feedback, and assisting the community, but that will come to an end next month.

If you have any outstanding sweepstakes tickets or rewards, you'll need to claim them before October 15 or they'll be lost. Players who have been active this season have been sent a "thank you" reward, so make sure to check the website if you haven't already. Microsoft also notes that Xbox Ambassador Champions are "evolving" into Xbox Community Champions, with the "goal of bringing the Ambassador values to all our players and helping us to chart our path forward."

"Xbox has evolved over the last decade, and with that, the needs of our global community," Microsoft says. "Players are finding more value in engaging with us in other ways that allow them to live our community values of making Xbox a place where everyone can have fun — including programs like Fanfest, Xbox Insider Program, and Rewards with Xbox. Thanks to the work of this group, the chance for players to experience the joy of gaming is more global and inclusive than ever — and we believe that now is the right moment to bring the learnings and values of the Ambassador community into all of our player engagement programs."

Similar to the legacy Xbox Live Gold badges, Microsoft says that the Xbox Ambassador badge displayed on your Xbox profile will be updated to a new legacy variant to mark the end of the program.
