As per a new report from Business Insider, Microsoft has laid off an unspecified number of employees across multiple divisions. Job cuts have been made in the company's security, experiences and devices, sales, and gaming departments.

2024 was an intensely bleak year for the games industry, with job cuts and studios closing down seemingly every other week. Last year, Microsoft laid off over 2,500 employees from its gaming division. In January, Microsoft cut 1,900 jobs across Xbox Game Studios, Activision Blizzard, and ZeniMax. In September, a further 650 jobs were cut across Microsoft Gaming.
