New Maruti Brezza 2026

Maruti Suzuki is expected to launch the updated Brezza in the second half of July 2026. The compact SUV has already been spotted undisguised during what appears to be a TVC shoot, revealing its refreshed design ahead of launch. While exterior updates are expected to be subtle, the biggest changes are likely to be under the hood and inside the cabin.

Financial Express has revealed that inventories of the outgoing Brezza are nearly exhausted. Existing customer bookings are expected to be transferred to the updated model at launch, depending on dealer stock availability.

New 1.0 Turbo Petrol Engine To Join Lineup

The biggest update with the 2026 Brezza facelift could be the introduction of a second petrol engine option. Alongside the existing 1.5-litre naturally aspirated petrol engine, Maruti Suzuki is expected to offer its heavily localised 1.0-litre turbo petrol engine.

This engine currently powers the Fronx and has been developed with localisation in mind. If introduced on the Brezza, it will make the SUV one of the few offerings in the segment with both naturally aspirated and turbocharged petrol options. Can expect it to get a sales boost too.

The move could also bring taxation benefits. Since the Brezza measures under four metres in length, a petrol engine below 1,200cc qualifies for lower GST compared to larger displacement engines. This may help Maruti position the turbo variants more competitively while also enhancing performance credentials. The existing 1.5-litre petrol engine is expected to continue unchanged and will likely remain the preferred choice for buyers looking for a relaxed driving experience and factory-fitted CNG compatibility.

CNG Version May Become More Practical

Spyshots reveal that Maruti could revise the CNG version with an underbody-mounted cylinder layout similar to the recently launched Victoris. Such a setup would free up valuable luggage space, addressing one of the biggest compromises associated with CNG vehicles. The current Brezza CNG loses a significant portion of its boot capacity due to the cylinder placement. An underfloor tank arrangement would improve practicality while retaining the benefits of lower running costs.

The facelifted Brezza is expected to get a wider grille with a thicker chrome element, revised front bumper design, updated fog lamp housings and a redesigned skid plate. The overall silhouette remains unchanged, but these tweaks are expected to give the SUV a fresher and more premium appearance. New alloy wheel designs and updated colour options could also be part of the package.
