After covering the top 10 scooters overall, we now take a closer look at the best-selling electric scooters in August 2026. Electric scooter sales across the models and ranges covered in this comparison reached 1,88,714 units in August 2026, up from 81,681 units in August 2025. This represents growth of 131.04%, translating to an additional 1,07,033 units. All entries with a non-zero year-ago base recorded growth, while five had no comparable volumes in August 2025.
Top 10 Electric Scooters Aug 2026
Bajaj Chetak recorded 52,248 units in August 2026, growing 272.83% from 14,014 units a year earlier. Its increase of 38,234 units was the largest absolute gain in the table, contributing nearly 36% of the combined yearly increase. TVS iQube ranked second with 42,882 units, up 75.50% from 24,434 units in August 2025. It added 18,448 units and held a 22.72% share. Together, Chetak and iQube recorded 95,130 units, accounting for 50.41% of the total.
Hero Vida followed with 25,558 units, more than doubling its year-ago tally of 12,273 units. Growth stood at 108.25%, giving the Vida range a 13.54% contribution. Ather Rizta secured fourth position with 22,586 units, up 30.22% from 17,344 units, and held an 11.97% share.
Orbiter Adds Volume, Magnus Nearly Doubles
TVS Orbiter took fifth position with 14,641 units, with no comparable sales recorded in the year-ago column. Combined with iQube, this brought TVS’ volumes in the table to 57,523 units—more than Chetak’s standalone tally. Orbiter has therefore become a meaningful contributor alongside TVS’ established electric scooter range.
Ampere Magnus registered 9,772 units, nearly doubling from 4,924 units in August 2025. Its 98.46% growth translated to an additional 4,848 units. Ather 450 followed with 6,891 units, growing 27.30% from 5,413 units. River Indie posted a strong 194.62% increase, reaching 6,567 units against 2,229 units a year earlier. Its gain of 4,338 units placed it close behind the Ather 450 range in monthly volumes.
Smaller Entries Grow From Lower Bases
Ampere Reo recorded 1,911 units, up 271.79% from 514 units, narrowly ahead of Honda QC1 at 1,902 units. QC1 had no volumes recorded in the corresponding month last year. Bajaj Yulu stood at 1,500 units, up from 150 units, registering the highest percentage increase in the table at 900%. Ampere Nexus also more than doubled, growing 106.56% to 756 units.
Suzuki e-Access recorded 668 units, followed by Yamaha EC-06 at 475 units and recently launched Ather Konarc at 217 units. All three had a zero base in the August 2025 comparison. Honda Activa e: completed the list with 140 units, up from 20 units. While this represented 600% growth, absolute volumes remained small.
The five new entries in last 12 months, together contributed 17,903 units, led overwhelmingly by Orbiter. However, most of the overall increase came from existing entries, particularly Chetak, iQube and Vida. Their combined gain of 69,967 units accounted for approximately 65% of the total growth, highlighting how strongly the leading nameplates drove August’s performance.
