Kia Syros EV Bookings Open – 526 Kms Range, Lifetime Warranty, BaaS

Kia Syros EV has made its global debut today. It is Kia India’s second mass-market electric SUV. Pre-bookings are open across India through Kia dealerships and the Kia India website. Customers can reserve the vehicle with a booking amount of Rs 25,000. Ownership programmes include Battery-as-a-Service (BaaS), an Assured Buyback programme, and flexible financing options. These measures aim to reduce upfront acquisition cost while supporting resale value during long-term ownership.

Buyers can choose between a 42 kWh battery and a 51.4 kWh Extended Range battery. These are the same options offered with Carens Clavis. Battery packs use Nickel Manganese Cobalt, or NMC, chemistry. The battery is IP67 certified and Kia provides a Lifetime High Voltage Battery Warranty (15 years, the life of the vehicle).

Kia Syros EV Range Across Both Battery Options

ARAI-certified figures reach up to 526 km under the MIDC Full Cycle for the Extended Range version. 42 kWh battery option delivers a certified range of 443 km. A 100 kW DC fast charger can charge the battery from 10 percent to 80 percent in 39 minutes.

Home and workplace charging are supported through a 10.8 kW onboard AC charger. Drivers can also adjust charging preferences through flexible charging controls. An Integrated Route Planner helps identify charging locations during longer trips while considering available battery capacity.

171 PS Motor, Regenerative Braking

Power comes from an electric motor producing 171 PS. Kia states that the 51.4 kWh battery version accelerates from 0 to 100 kmph in 8.1 seconds. Syros EV is based on the reinforced K1 platform. Regenerative Braking uses vehicle motion to recover energy during deceleration. Drivers can adjust regeneration levels through Paddle Shifters. Auto Mode automatically selects regeneration intensity, while i-Pedal enables stronger one-pedal driving in suitable traffic conditions.

Kia Connect 2.0, Trinity Display

Additional technologies include Vehicle-to-Load capability for powering compatible external electrical devices. Digital Key allows authorised smartphone access instead of a physical key. Virtual Engine Sound System, or VESS, generates an external sound to improve pedestrian awareness at lower speeds. Shift-by-Wire replaces a conventional mechanical gear selector with electronic controls through a column-mounted selector.

Digital features centre on Kia Connect 2.0 with more than 95 connected functions. Over-the-Air software updates allow supported systems to receive software improvements without visiting a workshop. Wireless Android Auto and Wireless Apple CarPlay support smartphone integration without cables. Cabin displays include a 30-inch Trinity Panoramic Display Panel combining dual 12.3-inch screens and a 5-inch climate interface. A wireless smartphone charger and Harman Kardon eight-speaker audio system are also available.

Frunk, Ventilated Seats, Panoramic Sunroof

Interior equipment includes sliding and reclining rear seats with a 60:40 split arrangement. Front and rear ventilated seats improve passenger comfort during warmer conditions. Cabin equipment also includes a four-way power driver seat, dual-pane panoramic sunroof, 64-colour ambient lighting, LED footwell lamps, dual-camera Smart Dashcam, rear door sunshade curtains, USB Type-C ports, a 100W front USB-C charger, and a 16-litre frunk.

Safety equipment includes Level 2 ADAS with 16 driver assistance functions, six airbags, Electronic Stability Control, Vehicle Stability Management, Hill-start Assist Control, Brake Assist System, Highline Tyre Pressure Monitoring System, ISOFIX child anchorages, Rear Occupant Alert, all-wheel disc brakes, an Electric Parking Brake with Auto Hold, and parking sensors at the front, rear, and sides.

Seven Trims, Exterior Colours

Kia Syros EV is available in seven trims comprising HTK, HTK+, HTX, HTK+ ER, HTX ER, HTX+ ER, and X-Line ER. The ER trims area available with the extended range battery. Exterior colour choices include Glacier White Pearl, Frost Blue, Gravity Grey, Pewter Olive, Magma Red, Ivory Silver Matte, Ivory Silver Gloss, Aurora Black Pearl, and Xclusive Matte Graphite and Aurora Black Pearl, for the X-Line ER.

Interior themes comprise Cloud Blue and Grey, Onyx Black and Off-White, and Onyx Black and Hunter Green. Buyers can therefore select combinations based on trim level, battery option, and preferred cabin finish. Prices and other details will be revealed at the launch event in a few days. Upon launch, new Kia Syros EV will take on the likes of Tata Nexon EV, Mahindra XUV 3XO EV, etc.
