New VinFast Electric Scooter For India Patented – Details
by Akshay Kulkarni · RushLaneRenowned Vietnamese auto maker, VinFast, has made a grand entrance in India’s electric car scene and is now taking greater strides in electric scooter scene too. The company is set to launch a multitude of global scooters like Evo, Feliz and Viper along with an upcoming maxi scooter called Rasad with 14-inch wheels. VinFast has signed LOIs with up to 50 dealerships in India across 34 big cities.
Along with these, VinFast is also developing a few India-specific electric scooters tailor-made for the country’s trends. One such India-specific VinFast electric scooter might have been patented in the country and have leaked from the directory. Interestingly, it does not seem to match with any other VinFast scooter currently on sale or announced officially.
New VinFast Electric Scooter
Apart from the announced global models like Evo, Feliz and Viper, VinFast seems to be working on a new India-specific electric scooter too. A new electric scooter patented by VinFast in India has fueled this speculation further. It takes the shape of a sporty electric scooter genre, but it still seems to be practical enough to probably keep up with family scooter tasks too.
In terms of design, this new VinFast electric scooter has a modern and minimalist fascia with a one-piece apron. This is where we see the VinFast logo and below apron, is the headlight unit, flanked by flush turn indicators, which could be LEDs. Below apron, we can see a Black body panels which look one-piece all the way till side body panels.
There is a front fender covering what looks like tall 14-inch wheels at both ends. These large wheels lend this scooter a good stance and road presence. Side body panels are minimal and we can see a long seat which is almost flat, with a subtle step. Tail lights look sporty along with a functional pillion grab rail.
What to expect?
Handlebar is street-style and is not covered and above it, is the instrument cluster. It could be an LCD unit or a more premium TFT unit. There is a conventional keyhole, which suggests that it is not likely to be positioned as a premium scooter. Floorboard is flat and looks accommodating, like in a family-format electric scooter.
This upcoming electric scooter from VinFast is suspended on RSU telescopic front forks along with rear twin shock setup. Powering it is a hub motor at the rear and the specs are unknown. Battery could be in the floorboard, unlocking decent under-seat storage. Launch is likely to happen in the coming years.
