by Pearl Daniels · RushLaneKia India registered its highest-ever June sales since entering the Indian market, dispatching 24,552 vehicles in June 2026. This represents a 19.04% year-on-year growth over the 20,625 units sold in June 2025. The company also achieved its strongest-ever first-half performance, with cumulative sales crossing 1.63 lakh units.
On a month-on-month basis, however, wholesale dispatches declined by 11% compared to May 2026, when Kia sold 27,586 units. Despite the sequential dip, June marked the brand’s best-ever performance for the month.
Best-Ever June Performance
Kia attributed the strong June performance to sustained customer demand across its expanding product portfolio. The company’s lineup now spans compact SUVs, mid-size SUVs, MPVs and electric vehicles, allowing it to cater to multiple segments of the Indian passenger vehicle market.
Record First Half Of 2026
Kia India closed the first six months of 2026 with its best-ever H1 sales, dispatching 1,63,749 units, compared to 1,42,139 units during the corresponding period last year, representing a 15.2% year-on-year growth. The company also reported a strong start to the April-June quarter, recording 79,424 units in Q2 2026, up 19.32% from 66,563 units sold during the same period in 2025.
Seltos, Sonet, Carens Clavis Lead Demand
Commenting on the sales performance, Atul Sood, Senior Vice President – Sales & Marketing, Kia India, said the record-breaking June and H1 performance reflects the trust customers continue to place in the Kia brand. He said the growth was driven by sustained demand for the new Seltos, Sonet and Carens Clavis, while the MY26 Syros has also received an encouraging response. Sood also highlighted that a significant number of existing Kia owners are upgrading to the new Seltos, reinforcing the SUV’s strong market acceptance.
Kia also reported positive customer response for the Carens Clavis EV. According to the company, favourable government policies supporting EV adoption, along with its recently introduced Battery-as-a-Service (BaaS) programme, are helping make electric mobility more accessible to customers. Next, Kia is likely to launch Syros EV in the compact electric SUV segment.
