New Hero VIDA Project VXZ

First previewed at EICMA 2025 and subsequently seen in design-registration images, Project VXZ returns with striking colours and a closer look at its electric motorcycle hardware

Hero MotoCorp has showcased VIDA Project VXZ at EICMA 2026, continuing the electric motorcycle project developed in partnership with US-based Zero Motorcycles. First announced at EICMA 2025, the concept returns with a vivid pink-and-purple finish, while new photographs reveal its charging inlet, belt drive and digital cockpit.

From Concept To Design Registration

Project VXZ’s earlier design registration revealed a sporty electric motorcycle with angular bodywork, split seats, USD forks, a rear monoshock and a large central battery enclosure. Several of these elements remain recognisable on the motorcycle displayed at EICMA 2026.

The headlamp shape, extended tank-side panels, exposed frame sections and raised tail demonstrate continuity between the earlier concept, patent drawings and latest showcase. The latest display motorcycle combines pink and purple bodywork with patterned graphics, contrasting against its black frame and mechanical components.

Translucent-looking side panels carry Project VXZ lettering, while VIDA branding appears on the upper bodywork and handlebar clamp. A central projector headlamp sits within a broad, angular lighting signature. Above it is a small tinted flyscreen, followed by a wide handlebar and a large instrument display.

Separate rider and pillion seats, a sharply raised tail and a slim rear lighting assembly reinforce its streetfighter appearance. The sculpted upper enclosure resembles a conventional motorcycle fuel tank, but houses a charging-access panel instead.

Charging Inlet And Belt Drive Revealed

Images with the upper panel open reveal a charging inlet beneath a hinged cover. Hero has not disclosed the charging standard, onboard charger capacity or supported charging speeds.

The side profile also shows a belt final drive, transferring power from a motor positioned near the swingarm pivot to the rear wheel. A substantial finned enclosure occupies the centre and lower section of the motorcycle.

Battery capacity, motor power, torque and cooling specifications remain unannounced. Consequently, the size of the enclosure cannot yet be translated into a confirmed range or performance estimate.

USD Forks, Monoshock And Disc Brakes

Visible hardware includes upside-down front forks, a rear monoshock and alloy wheels with road-focused tyres. The motorcycle also features a substantial swingarm and disc brakes at both ends. Hero has yet to announce wheel dimensions, suspension travel, seat height, ground clearance or kerb weight for the concept.

A ByBre-branded front caliper and ABS tone ring are visible, while the instrument interface displays ABS and traction-control symbols. These provide clues to the electronics being explored, although the final equipment list has not been confirmed.

Digital Cockpit Offers Range Clue

The large colour display shows a motorcycle graphic, Sport mode, parking function and settings, alongside battery and estimated-range information. The switchgear includes directional controls, a hazard button, mode selector and an SOS-labelled control. One image shows 150 km remaining at 80% charge. Proportional extrapolation suggests approximately 188 km at full charge. For the VXZ, production timing, pricing and market availability remain unannounced.
