Maruti Suzuki posted strong year-on-year growth in August 2026, with its model-wise sales reaching 1,76,971 units. This was an increase of 34.81% over 1,31,278 units sold in August 2025. However, sales declined 9.80% on a month-on-month basis from 1,96,203 units recorded in July 2026.

Maruti Sales Breakup Aug 2026 – YoY

Wagon R topped Maruti sales in August with 20,180 units. This represented strong 38.68% YoY growth from 14,552 units. MoM performance was weaker, falling 13.53% from 23,338 units. Swift finished second with 19,832 units, recording an impressive 60.13% YoY growth from 12,385 units. Compared to July’s 21,538 units, sales declined 7.92%.

Fronx was third at 18,730 units, up 50.78% YoY from 12,422 units. Its MoM decline was relatively contained at 3.82%. Ertiga followed closely with 18,516 units, almost flat YoY with 0.38% growth, while falling 14.30% MoM. Dzire registered 18,418 units, growing 11.56% YoY. However, it recorded one of the larger MoM declines among Maruti’s high-volume models, down 22.58% from 23,791 units in July.

Baleno, Brezza And Victoris Add Strong Volumes

Baleno contributed 15,746 units in August, registering 25.48% YoY growth. Sales were down 13.68% MoM. With the new Baleno with ADAS now launched, sales are expected to improve further in coming months. Brezza performed better sequentially, with sales increasing 26.82% from 12,055 units in July to 15,288 units in August. YoY growth stood at 12.25%.

Victoris continued to make a significant contribution with 12,978 units. Sales increased 14.51% over 11,334 units in July. With no corresponding sales in August 2025, a YoY comparison is not applicable. Eeco recorded 11,961 units, up 10.90% YoY but down 13.92% MoM.

Alto sales stood at 8,692 units, registering 57.46% YoY growth. Sequentially, however, Alto suffered the sharpest decline among Maruti’s major volume models at 30.65%. Grand Vitara recorded 7,808 units, growing 35.96% YoY while declining 3.93% MoM. XL6 sales reached 3,339 units, up 12.31% YoY.

Celerio Nearly Doubles YoY

Celerio was among the biggest YoY gainers, with sales rising 98.67% from 1,505 to 2,990 units. However, it was down 23.61% compared to July. Maruti eVitara contributed 1,586 units, while Jimny sales stood at 586 units.

Jimny was one of the few models to grow MoM, rising 10.98%, although sales declined 2.82% YoY. Invicto recorded 214 units, while S-Presso was down sharply to just 107 units. With Toyota Innova Hycross facelift now in testing phase, it is likely that the facelifted Invicto will also launch next year.
