Skoda Auto India has launched the all-new Skoda Kodiaq RS at a price of Rs 66.99 lakh (ex-showroom). Marking the arrival of the iconic RS performance badge on the Kodiaq SUV in India, the company offered the SUV in a limited batch of just 50 units. All units were sold out within six minutes of bookings opening.
The launch coincides with two milestones for the Czech carmaker – over 50 years of the RS badge and 125 years of Skoda’s motorsport heritage. Alongside the launch, the company has also introduced its new ‘Surrender’ campaign, highlighting the SUV’s blend of performance, luxury and off-road capability.
Quickest Skoda In India
Powering the Kodiaq RS is a 2.0-litre TSI turbo-petrol engine producing 265 PS and 400 Nm of torque. The engine is paired with a 7-speed DSG automatic transmission and an all-wheel-drive system. Performance is the biggest highlight, with the SUV capable of accelerating from 0-100 km/h in just 6.3 seconds, making it the quickest Skoda ever sold in India. Top speed is rated at 231 km/h. Chassis And Driving Dynamics
The Kodiaq RS comes equipped with several performance-focused technologies as standard. These include Progressive Steering, which offers quicker steering response with fewer lock-to-lock turns, improving both low-speed manoeuvrability and high-speed precision.
Also offered as standard is the latest-generation Dynamic Chassis Control (DCC) Plus, which continuously adjusts the suspension damping for improved ride comfort and handling. Drivers can choose between multiple driving modes including Eco, Comfort, Normal, Sport, Individual, Snow and Off-Road. Additional premium features include acoustic side windows, enhancing cabin refinement by reducing outside noise.
Sportier RS Design
Compared to the standard Kodiaq, the RS receives several exclusive styling updates. Buyers could choose from four exterior colours – Moon White, Magic Black, Velvet Red and Steel Grey. Exterior highlights include:
– Gloss black grille surround
– Illuminated front grille with horizontal light strip
– Black ORVMs, roof rails and window surrounds
– Unique front and rear bumpers
– Full-width rear reflector
– Black Skoda lettering and RS badging
– Polished stainless steel exhaust finishers
– Exclusive 20-inch Elias alloy wheels
Continuing The RS Legacy
The RS badge first appeared on the Skoda 130 RS in 1975 and has since become synonymous with the brand’s performance models. In India, the Octavia RS has long enjoyed cult status among enthusiasts. With the arrival of the new Kodiaq RS, Skoda has now expanded its RS portfolio into the premium SUV segment for the first time in India.
Commenting on the launch, Ashish Gupta, Brand Director, Skoda Auto India, said the overwhelming response, with the entire allocation selling out in minutes, reflects strong demand for performance-oriented products in the luxury SUV space. Although the initial batch is limited to just 50 units, the quick sellout indicates strong interest in Skoda’s RS range. It remains to be seen if the company introduces additional units in the future based on customer demand. Internationally, facelifted Kodiaq and Kodiaq RS are due in 2027.
