Maruti Suzuki has launched CNG-AMT versions of Swift, Dzire and Baleno under its Auto Green Mission initiative. Swift CNG AMT VXI is priced from Rs 7.92 lakh, Baleno CNG AMT Delta from Rs 8.32 lakh and Dzire CNG AMT VXI from Rs 8.53 lakh, all ex-showroom. This launch follows facelifted Baleno launch which took place earlier this month.
The additions address a long-standing gap in Maruti’s lineup. Buyers choosing CNG versions of these models previously had to opt for a manual gearbox. They can now combine factory-fitted CNG with clutch-free driving, particularly useful for everyday commuting in congested cities.
Dzire CNG AMT Leads With 36.47 Km/Kg
Alongside pricing, Maruti Suzuki has revealed the claimed fuel efficiency of all three models. Dzire CNG AMT delivers 36.47 km/kg, making it the most efficient of the trio. Swift CNG AMT follows at 35.34 km/kg, while Baleno CNG AMT is rated at 34.47 km/kg.
Swift provides the lowest entry price for the new combination. Baleno costs Rs 40,000 more, while Dzire is priced Rs 61,000 above Swift and Rs 21,000 above Baleno. These are comparisons between their announced starting prices; equipment differences will depend on the respective variants. The mileage figures are claimed values, with actual efficiency varying according to traffic, driving style, vehicle load and operating conditions.
Z12 Three-Cylinder Engine With CNG And AMT
The new versions use Maruti Suzuki’s 1.2-litre Z12-series three-cylinder engine, paired with its S-CNG system and an automated manual transmission. This expands powertrain choice across both the company’s hatchback and compact sedan offerings.
An AMT automates clutch operation and gear changes, removing the need to use a clutch pedal. For buyers covering substantial distances in stop-start traffic, this adds driving convenience to the running-cost appeal of CNG.
Until now, customers considering these three models had to choose between a CNG manual and a petrol automatic. The new combination allows them to select both CNG and an automatic gearbox within the same car.
Available Across Arena And Nexa Models
The expansion covers both Maruti Suzuki retail channels. Swift and Dzire are sold through Arena, while Baleno is available through Nexa. Each model serves a different buyer requirement. Swift offers the most affordable entry into the new CNG-AMT range, Baleno provides a larger hatchback alternative, and Dzire combines a sedan body style with the highest claimed mileage of the three.
