Together, domestic sales and exports declined by 2,873 units. The domestic market contributed 2,062 units of this shortfall, accounting for approximately 72% of the overall reduction.
Third-Quarter Volumes Down 4.42%
The softer September performance came at the end of a quarter that also recorded lower overall volumes. During July–September 2026, Toyota sold 93,576 vehicles across domestic and export markets, compared with 97,902 units in the corresponding quarter last year.
Exports declined more sharply, falling 22.09% to 9,623 units against 12,352 units a year earlier. The reduction of 2,729 export units accounted for approximately 63% of the quarterly shortfall, making overseas shipments the larger contributor to the overall decline.

The increase of 22,090 units translates to 8.10% growth, supported by stronger domestic volumes earlier in the year. Domestic sales rose 9.12% to 2,69,619 units from 2,47,081 units, adding 22,538 vehicles. Exports stood at 25,295 units, marginally lower than the 25,743 units recorded a year earlier, a decline of 1.74%.
Toyota Looks To Festive-Season Engagement
Commenting on the results, Sabari Manohar, Executive Vice President, Sales-Service-Used Car Business, Toyota Kirloskar Motor, said September saw continued customer interest across segments, supported by the brand’s focus on quality, durability and reliability. He added that Toyota would work closely with its dealer partners during the festive season to strengthen customer engagement and address evolving customer requirements.
Toyota enters the festive period with year-to-date volumes still ahead of 2025, although September and quarterly comparisons show a slower recent performance. Later this month, Toyota will launch the updated Glanza.
