Skoda VW Sales Breakup July 2026 – Kylaq, Slavia, Kushaq, Virtus, Taigun

Skoda and Volkswagen have reported mixed sales performance for July 2026. While Skoda registered year-on-year growth led by the Kylaq SUV, Volkswagen witnessed a decline compared to the same month last year despite posting a healthy month-on-month improvement.

Skoda India sales up 2.8% YoY

Skoda India sold 5,709 units in July 2026, up from 5,552 units in July 2025. This translates to a gain of 157 units and 2.83% YoY growth. However, compared to 6,220 units sold in June 2026, monthly sales declined by 8.22%.

Kylaq continued to be the company’s best-selling model with 3,727 units, accounting for 65.28% of Skoda’s total sales. It also posted a healthy 10.36% YoY growth, adding 350 units over July last year. On a month-on-month basis, however, Kylaq sales fell 7.72% from 4,039 units in June.

Slavia remained Skoda’s second highest-selling model with 993 units, although sales declined 14.98% YoY and 8.31% MoM. Skoda is getting ready to launch the updated Slavia next week, which is expected to deliver a boost to its sales.

Kushaq followed with 833 units, registering declines of 7.55% YoY and 16.03% MoM. At the other end of the lineup, Kodiaq recorded the strongest percentage growth. Sales increased to 156 units, up from 106 units a year ago, reflecting 47.17% YoY growth. It also posted the same 47.17% MoM increase, helped by improved availability.

Volkswagen sales decline YoY

Volkswagen India sold 2,715 units in July 2026, compared to 3,212 units in July 2025. This represents a decline of 497 units or 15.47% YoY. However, compared to 2,467 units sold in June 2026, Volkswagen registered 10.05% month-on-month growth, adding 248 units.

Virtus continued as Volkswagen’s highest-selling model with 1,420 units, contributing 52.30% of the brand’s total sales. While Virtus sales were down 20.98% YoY, they improved 18.83% MoM from 1,195 units in June. VW is expected to launch facelifted Virtus ahead of Diwali festive season.

Taigun ranked second with 1,225 units, down 7.69% YoY but up 3.64% MoM. Tayron contributed 45 units, slightly higher than the 43 units recorded in June. Tiguan sales dropped to 23 units, while Golf recorded just 2 units during the month.

Kylaq remains key growth driver

Among all models across both brands, Kylaq continued to be the biggest volume contributor and the primary reason behind Skoda’s positive year-on-year performance. Together, Kylaq, Slavia and Kushaq accounted for over 97% of Skoda’s monthly sales. For Volkswagen, Virtus and Taigun remained the volume pillars despite their year-on-year decline. While July brought sequential improvement for the brand, overall volumes were still lower than the corresponding month last year.
