New Royal Enfield GTR 750 Launch Nears – Spied In Chennai

Royal Enfield is expanding their multi-cylinder motorcycle portfolio and we have seen the test mules and the official teasers and showcases. These new breed of multi-cylinder bikes from Royal Enfield will come with a new 750cc engine, which is expected to be a bored out version of the current 650cc version.

The first of these to launch may either be a Himalayan 750 or Continental GT 750. More interestingly, a faired version of Continental GT 750 which could be called GTR 750 is also under testing and latest spy shots show the motorcycle in near-production spec.

GTR 750 Testing Continues

Unlike the current Continental GT 650, Royal Enfield is expected to launch a faired version of this cafe racer with the new 750cc platform. It has been spied testing multiple times on public roads and the latest test mule shows similar attributes as the previous spy shots. Increasing frequency of test mules suggest that a launch might be nearing.

For starters, Continental GTR 750 (name not confirmed) is the one that comes with a fairing, while there is a version of this cafe racer without any camouflage too. That version is also spied testing and could be called Continental GT 750 (again, name not confirmed, but highly likely to be it).

The fairing is not fully covering the engine bay, which is typical of the faired cafe racers. Fairing does engulf the circular headlight, offering an integrated flyscreen which should help with wind protection. When launched, Continental GTR 750 is expected to get clip-on handlebars for a more committed and sporty riding posture.

There are bar-end mirrors with this motorcycle and then we can also see alloy wheels. Engine bay and exhaust pipes (yes, there are two exhausts, one on either sides) get a matte black finish for a sporty aesthetic. The differentiating factor with the 750 is that it will get dual disc brake setup at the front, which can be seen with this unit too.

Launch By 2026 End?

Where features and creature comforts are concerned, Royal Enfield Continental GTR 750 is expected to get dual channel ABS, slipper clutch, all-LED headlights (shared with other REs), RSU telescopic front forks, twin-shock rear absorbers, tubeless tyres and more. Instrument cluster looks like it is the same twin-pod setup, but we wish one of them has the Tripper screen for Bluetooth and navigation.

The all-new 750cc parallel twin oil-cooled engine is expected to be a big-bore version of the current 650cc parallel twin unit. The current 650cc version is tuned to generate around 47 bhp and 52 Nm, mated to a 6-speed gearbox. 50-55 bhp and 60+ Nm is likely with upcoming 750cc version. While a launch timeline is not revealed, Royal Enfield may launch it by 2026 end or in 2027.
