Kia Carens Clavis Diesel AT and Petrol DCT – New Base Entry Variants Launched

Kia India has expanded Carens Clavis ICE lineup with three new automatic variants, bringing both turbo-petrol DCT and diesel automatic powertrains to more affordable trims. The new variants are based on HTE (EX) and HTE (O), with prices starting at Rs 14.67 lakh (ex-showroom).

The update comes as Kia expands Carens Clavis portfolio across both ICE and electric powertrains. Just yesterday, the company announced a 15-year/unlimited kilometre high-voltage battery warranty for first owners of eligible Carens Clavis EVs.

Turbo-Petrol DCT Now Available From Rs 14.67 Lakh

The biggest change is the introduction of the 1.5-litre turbo-petrol engine with DCT on lower Carens Clavis trims. Earlier, buyers looking for this engine-transmission combination had to move higher up the variant ladder. Carens Clavis HTE (O) 1.5 Turbo-Petrol DCT is priced at Rs 14,66,900, making it the most affordable of the three newly introduced automatic variants.

HTE (EX) also gets the 1.5-litre turbo-petrol DCT combination and is priced at Rs 15,21,900. Interestingly, HTE (EX) is positioned above HTE (O) in terms of price despite the same turbo-petrol DCT powertrain, with a difference of Rs 55,000 between the two. HTE (EX) variant was first launched in Jan this year.

Diesel Automatic Added To HTE (O)

Kia has simultaneously made its diesel automatic powertrain more accessible. Carens Clavis HTE (O) with the 1.5-litre diesel and automatic transmission is priced at Rs 15,81,900.

This means customers shopping in the Rs 15 lakh price bracket now have a choice between turbo-petrol DCT and diesel automatic configurations without necessarily moving to the higher trims.

All three newly introduced variants also receive what Kia calls the Automatic Pack. It includes Smart Key with Motion Sensor, Push-Button Start, Drive Modes, Electronic Parking Brake and Remote Engine Start.

Carens Clavis Prices Range From Rs 11.39 Lakh To Rs 21.79 Lakh

Carens Clavis petrol range currently starts at Rs 11.39 lakh for HTE and extends up to Rs 21.79 lakh for GTX Plus and X-Line. With the latest update, HTE (O) range now extends up to Rs 14.67 lakh with the new turbo-petrol DCT, while HTE EX extends up to Rs 15.22 lakh.

Higher petrol variants include HTK Plus from Rs 16.85 lakh, HTK Plus (O) from Rs 16.42 lakh, HTX (O) at Rs 19.62 lakh, GTX at Rs 20 lakh and HTX Plus ranging from Rs 19.04 lakh to Rs 21.07 lakh.

For diesel buyers, Carens Clavis HTE (O) range is priced between Rs 14.37 lakh and Rs 15.82 lakh, with the newly introduced diesel automatic sitting at the upper end. HTE EX diesel is priced at Rs 14.88 lakh, while HTK Plus, HTK Plus (O) and HTX are priced at Rs 16.44 lakh, Rs 17.22 lakh and Rs 19.01 lakh, respectively.
