During its Q2 FY27 results media briefing, Mahindra Automotive Sector CEO, Rajesh Jejurikar, announced three launches in the first half of 2027. While names have not been revealed, these new launches could include the Vision S-based SUV (speculated to be Sub 4m Scorpio Sport), BE 07 and Scorpio Lifestyler pickup. Mahindra will also introduce updates to an existing model and launch a new light commercial vehicle by June 2027.

Mahindra Vision S SUV

Production version of the Vision S concept will be the first SUV based on Mahindra’s NU_IQ platform. This versatile platform is future-ready, with support for petrol, diesel, hybrid and fully electric powertrains. Test mules of Vision S have been frequently spotted and launch is expected by Q1, 2027. This will be a sub-4-meter SUV, likely positioned above the XUV 3XO in the company’s lineup.

Higher trims will get premium features like a panoramic sunroof, ventilated seats, wireless charging, Level-2 ADAS and a 360° camera setup.

Mahindra BE 07

Mahindra’s born-electric INGLO platform currently has three EVs – BE 6, XEV 9e and XEV 9S. This range will be expanded with BE 07, which is expected to be launched by Q1, 2027. Test mules have revealed exciting features such as frameless doors and pop-out flush door handles. BE 07 has a sharp, angular silhouette, ensuring a striking presence.

Mahindra BE 07 will take on rivals like Harrier EV, BYD Atto 3 and Vinfast VF7.

Mahindra Scorpio Lifestyler

Another potential bestseller in the making, Mahindra Scorpio Lifestyler can give tough competition to rivals like Toyota Hilux and Isuzu D-Max V-Cross. Scorpio Lifestyler is the production version of the Global Pik Up concept unveiled in 2023. In addition to the domestic market, the Lifestyler pickup will be sold in multiple global markets.

Scorpio Lifestyler will be competitively priced, with Mahindra already announcing that the pickup’s starting price will be below Rs 19.79 lakh (ex-sh).

Production capacity expansion

To meet growing demand for its SUVs and EVs, Mahindra will be increasing production. Rajesh Jejurikar, Executive Director and CEO (Auto and Farm Sector) at Mahindra, said that the company is already operating above its full production capacity. Current production capacity (SUV + EV) is at 68,000 units per month, as of September 2026.

This is planned to be increased to 82,000 units per month by FY27. It will include 70,000 production capacity for ICE SUVs and 12,000 for EVs. This increased production capacity includes capacity building for the upcoming new models. Mahindra is also planning to add 10,000 units of production capacity at its Chakan plant, exclusively for its NU_IQ-based cars.

With that, the total production capacity will increase to 92,000 units per month by March 2028. Mahindra is also building a new plant in Nagpur, where a production capacity of 20,000 units per month is targeted by September 2029. Another 20,000 units capacity will be added at the same plant by September 2030.
