Norton Motorcycles has globally revealed its new 450cc urban motorcycle on November 2, ahead of its public debut at EICMA on November 3. The announcement confirms the smaller-capacity single-cylinder Norton, marking the brand’s expansion into a new motorcycle category under TVS ownership.
The first official image shows the motorcycle alongside Sudarshan Venu, Chairman, TVS Motor Company. Its futuristic styling gives it the appearance of a concept or show bike, although Norton has not explicitly described it as a concept in the announcement. Sales will begin in 2027, with the official model name to be revealed ahead of launch.
A Different Design Direction For Norton
The new motorcycle takes a distinctly modern approach, moving away from the traditional styling associated with Norton’s older roadsters. The image reveals a compact, angular headlamp, sculpted tank area and prominent silver-finished sections framing the engine.
A slim seat flows into a sharply raised tail, while the relatively short rear bodywork leaves much of the rear wheel exposed. The motorcycle also features an upswept exhaust with a substantial metallic heat shield, alloy wheels and a rear wheel-mounted registration plate holder.
Visible hardware includes upside-down front forks and disc brakes at both ends. The pale metallic bodywork, contrasting dark mechanical components and clean surfaces reinforce its show-bike appearance. Whether these details carry over unchanged to the showroom model remains to be seen. Norton describes its design approach as one centred on proportions, stance, carefully shaped surfaces and attention to detail.
454cc Single-Cylinder Engine, 45 Nm
Power comes from a liquid-cooled 454cc single-cylinder engine producing 45 Nm of torque. Norton says the engine has been developed with an emphasis on responsive, accessible performance suited to the motorcycle’s urban positioning. The company has not announced peak power, gearbox specifications, kerb weight or performance figures. It is expected to deliver output of around 40–45 bhp.
An aluminium frame is another significant confirmed feature. Norton says it provides the foundation for agile handling, although detailed chassis dimensions and suspension specifications are still awaited.
The new Norton will feature an 8-inch TFT touchscreen with advanced connectivity. This is one of the standout specifications announced so far, bringing a substantial digital interface to the smaller-capacity motorcycle.
Sales Begin In 2027
The new motorcycle follows Norton’s unveiling of the Manx, Manx R, Atlas and Atlas GT at EICMA 2025. Deliveries of the Manx R and Atlas have started in European markets, with the remaining models to follow.
Norton now has more than 50 retail locations across 10 markets, while preparations continue for its introduction into India and the United States. The new 450cc urban motorcycle will play a role in this expansion, offering another entry point into the brand. Its public EICMA debut will provide the next opportunity to examine the motorcycle ahead of its planned 2027 sales introduction.
