Skoda Auto Volkswagen India has commenced production of the new Slavia facelift at its Chakan plant in Pune. The announcement comes ahead of the festive season, taking the updated sedan a step closer to customers following its unveiling last month.
Production Begins At Chakan
The start of production marks the next stage in the Slavia facelift’s introduction. Commenting on the development, Piyush Arora, Managing Director and CEO of Skoda Auto Volkswagen India, said the new model builds on the Slavia’s existing strengths with enhancements in technology, comfort and convenience.
Slavia has recorded nearly 80,000 sales in India since launch. According to Skoda, the sedan commands close to 30% of its segment, making the update important to maintaining its position in the market.
Revised Styling, 10 Colour Options
As revealed at its August debut, the facelift introduces an updated grille, redesigned bumpers and new LED headlights with a revised daytime running light signature. The overall silhouette remains familiar, while new 16-inch alloy wheel designs refresh the side profile.
At the rear, the sedan receives revised LED tail lamps, sequential turn indicators and an updated bumper. Unlike the Kushaq, the decorative elements in the Slavia’s grille are not illuminated. The colour palette comprises 10 options, including the new Arctic Silver and Cappuccino Beige shades.
Availability varies by trim, with dual-tone combinations also offered. Cappuccino Beige shipments are scheduled to begin in December 2026. The range-topping Monte Carlo gets additional visual distinctions, including black alloy wheels, red brake callipers, red grille accents, fender badging and a subtle rear lip spoiler. Its cabin features a black theme with red contrasts.
Eight-Speed Automatic And More Cabin Features
A major mechanical update is the new eight-speed torque-converter automatic paired with the 1.0 TSI engine. Inside, the familiar dashboard layout is retained, but the sedan gains a 10.25-inch digital instrument cluster. It supports turn-by-turn navigation, while the upgraded 10.1-inch infotainment system offers wireless Android Auto and Apple CarPlay.
Skoda also highlights next-generation infotainment featuring an AI Companion powered by Google Cloud. Further additions include a 360-degree Area View camera and a rear-seat massage function, which the company describes as a segment-first.
Festive Launch Ahead
Skoda continues to highlight the Slavia’s five-star Global NCAP safety credentials as part of its positioning. The production announcement carries forward those credentials rather than announcing a separate crash-test result for the facelift.
The updated sedan will compete with the Hyundai Verna, Volkswagen Virtus and Honda City. Its combination of refreshed design, additional cabin equipment and the new automatic gearbox gives Skoda more to offer buyers during the festive period.
