New Tata Aeris CNG Spied Before Launch – Dzire, Amaze, Aura Rival

Tata Motors’ Tigor has been one of the most underrated vehicles on sale in India. In terms of sales, Tigor has consistently been at the bottom of Tata’s sales charts across H1 2026. Now, Tata is overhauling Tigor with a major update and is shedding the current nameplate as well. Tata’s only sedan will now be called Aeris, instead of Tigor.

With revised exterior and interior design which might work this time, Tata Motors is betting big on their only sedan. Launch is set to happen tomorrow on 25th September. Ahead of its formal launch, units have started to arrive at dealerships without any camouflage, showing what Tata Aeris will look like in real world.

New Tata Aeris Reach Showrooms

Ahead of its grand launch tomorrow, Tata Aeris has been reaching dealer yards as the logistics have commenced. Without any camouflage to hide its design, Tata Aeris shows its design without any layers. Semblances of new Tiago with Aeris are evident, but is not a bad thing as it looks quite handsome.

New clamshell bonnet, reflector LED headlights, gloss black applique on the fascia, C-shaped elements in the bumper, rear coupe-like sloping roofline, roof spoiler with high-mount LED stop lights which look narrower than current model’s full-width unit, shark fin antenna, LED tail lights with connected design and new rear bumper are notable.

Unlike new Tiago with vertical elements in bumper, new Tata Aeris comes with C-shaped design which makes it look better than its hatchback counterpart. The unit spied undisguised reaching dealer yard seems to be a lower-spec trim as it lacks quite a bit of hero features which top-spec variants will come equipped with.

These hero features include LED DRLs integrated into its headlights, LED fog lights, connected LED light ribs in rear tail lights, alloy wheels, 360-degree cameras with dashcam feature and more. Inside, new Tata Aeris will offer the same layout for the fabric wrapped dashboard, 10.25-inch infotainment screen with wireless Android Auto and Apple CarPlay, new wide LCD instrument cluster and others.

i-CNG Version

Also, this particular unit is Aeris i-CNG which is expected to carry forward the brilliant dual-cylinder CNG tank implementation and AMT gearbox option as current Tigor. Other CNG attributes like CNG start and reinforced suspension will be part of the package. The whole campaign for Tata Aeris is revolving around their sedan not being boring anymore and it seems to be achieving that.

We wish rear AC vents are part of the package with Tata Aeris along with front and rear centre armrests. Same 1.2L 3-cylinder NA Petrol engine as current Tigor is expected to power soon-to-launch Tata Aeris. i-CNG version will boast slightly less performance, but higher economy with up to 28.06 km/kg (Tigor i-CNG’s). Rivals continue to be Maruti Suzuki Dzire, Hyundai Aura and Honda Amaze.
