Hyundai Sales Breakup Aug 2026 – Creta, Venue, Exter, Aura, i10, i20, Alcazar, Verna

Hyundai Motor India registered domestic sales of 54,396 units in August 2026, recording strong double-digit growth over the same month last year. Sales increased by 23.62% YoY from 44,001 units sold in August 2025. On a month-on-month basis, however, volumes were largely flat. Creta continued to lead Hyundai’s portfolio, while Venue and Exter emerged among the biggest YoY growth contributors.

Hyundai Creta sales stood at 16,288 units in August 2026. This was 2.29% higher than 15,924 units recorded a year ago. However, compared to July’s 18,088 units, sales declined 9.95%. Creta accounted for 29.94% of Hyundai’s August volumes, making it the company’s largest-selling nameplate by a substantial margin. Hyundai has announced new Lounge Edition for Creta and Alcazar.

Venue took second place with 11,365 units. Sales jumped 40.15% YoY from 8,109 units and improved 2.43% over July’s 11,095 units. Venue contributed 20.89% to Hyundai’s overall domestic sales. New Venue recently got OTA update, enabling remote engine immobiliser feature.

Exter recorded an even stronger performance, with 8,157 units sold. Volumes increased 61.17% YoY from 5,061 units and 19.78% MoM from 6,810 units. Hyundai Aura sales reached 6,685 units, up 25.28% YoY and 14.92% MoM. Grand i10 NIOS was another strong performer with 5,342 units, registering growth of 36.69% YoY and 31.74% MoM.

Hyundai i20 sold 5,165 units. While this represented a strong 42.13% increase over 3,634 units sold in August last year, sales declined 23.35% compared to 6,738 units in July. Together, Hyundai’s six highest-volume models – Creta, Venue, Exter, Aura, i10 NIOS and i20 – accounted for virtually all of the company’s domestic volumes during the month.

At the lower end of the sales chart, Alcazar registered 856 units, down 27.89% YoY and 0.70% MoM. Verna sales were even lower at 529 units, declining 31.39% YoY and 28.22% MoM. IONIQ 5 registered just 9 units during August, compared to 14 units last year and 8 units in July. Tucson recorded zero sales during the month, against 57 units in August 2025.

Two New Hyundai SUVs Launch Soon

Hyundai is also preparing to expand its India portfolio with two new SUVs during the current financial year. Both upcoming models have already been spotted testing on Indian roads. The first is expected to be a new midsize SUV based on the international-spec Hyundai Bayon. This model is expected to strengthen Hyundai’s presence in the SUV space alongside Venue and Creta, although final specifications and positioning for India are yet to be announced.

Hyundai is also developing a new sub-4-metre all-electric SUV, which is expected to be manufactured in India. Test mules of the upcoming EV have already been spotted on multiple occasions. It will give Hyundai a more affordable locally built electric SUV positioned below Creta Electric and could become an important volume product for the brand’s EV business.
