Upcoming Tata Safari EV Spied – Gets Triple Screen From Sierra?

Tata Motors has a vast ICE portfolio and most of that ICE portfolio has an electric counterpart. Only the Altroz and Safari currently do not have their respective electric counterparts. Tata is coming up with Safari EV soon, which will be their first-ever three-row electric SUV and it will leave only the Altroz without an electric counterpart.

There have been a few test mule sightings of upcoming Tata Safari EV already and the latest spy shots from automotive enthusiast Nikint Kshirsagar suggest that Tata Motors might be offering a triple screen layout we have seen exclusively with Sierra and Sierra EV to take on the Mahindra XEV 9S, which offers triple screen setup as standard.

Upcoming Tata Safari EV Spied

One would speculate that Safari EV might be identical to Harrier EV in terms of equipment, while only differing at the rear and seating layout. However, the recent spy shots suggest that Tata Motors could be working to make Safari EV a wee bit better equipped than Harrier EV, which is already Tata’s best-equipped offering.

We’re talking about the addition of triple screen layout on the dashboard, which Harrier EV does not offer, but Sierra and Sierra EV do. We can see a hint of a triple screen setup in these recent spy shots and the source mentions that the Safari EV has a triple screen setup, which unfortunately could not be clearly captured with this test mule. There is a good probability that Safari EV continues with just two screens too.

Triple screen setup on the Safari EV makes sense because the immediate rival, Mahindra XEV 9S, offers triple screen layout as standard right from the base variant. The combination of triple screen dashboard along with three-row seating seems to have worked as XEV 9S is now the best-selling D Segment EV.

What to expect?

From the outside, Safari EV is expected to look almost similar to its ICE counterpart, except for a few EV-specific design elements. On the inside, we can expect similar space as ICE counterpart and similar equipment as Harrier EV along with a triple screen layout (not confirmed). The same 65 kWh and 75 kWh battery options along with dual motor QWD setup with up to 500 Nm, is likely.

Features like self park, summon mode, Level-2+ ADAS, multi-like rear independent suspension, terrain modes, digital IRVM, 540-degree camera, 14.5-inch Samsung OLED screen, V2L and V2V, Arcade.ev app suite and others might be offered with Safari EV as well. Range could be slightly less than Harrier EV’s 627 km claimed figure.

Tata Motors is expected to light up the festive mood in Indian SUV buyers with an electric version of their flagship Safari SUV. After a long time of selling with just one Diesel option, Safari got a Turbo Petrol engine option earlier this year and now, it is set to get an electric version around Diwali time as their first three-row electric SUV.
