Tata Aeris Structural Strength Showcased By Placing Harrier EV On Its Roof

Tata showcased the Aeris’ structural strength through a stacked-vehicle display and a video showing the sedan starting and moving after a rubble demonstration

Tata Motors gave its newly launched Aeris an unusual introduction, putting structural strength at the centre of two demonstrations. At the launch venue, a Harrier.ev was positioned on a steel platform above an Aeris iCNG. Separately, Tata screened a video showing 20 tonnes of rubble being poured onto the sedan, followed by footage of the car starting and moving.

The outdoor display featured a Harrier.ev placed perpendicular to the Aeris, creating a striking visual contrast between the electric SUV and the compact sedan underneath. A large steel platform accommodated the SUV, with a supporting framework positioned around the Aeris’ roof.

Close-up photographs show multiple contact points along the sedan’s roof edges. The arrangement spreads the load across several locations, making the framework an important part of the demonstration.

20 Tonnes Of Rubble, Followed By A Drive

Tata also presented a video demonstration in which a truck poured what the company described as 20 tonnes of rubble onto an Aeris. The video subsequently showed the sedan starting and moving, adding another element to the brand’s strength showcase. The sequence highlighted the vehicle’s ability to remain operational following the demonstration.

Six Airbags Standard, Additional Safety On Higher Trims

Tata says the Aeris uses ultra-high-strength steel as part of its Safety Dome approach, with the structure engineered for protection from impacts around the vehicle. Six airbags are standard across the range, alongside ABS with EBD and corner stability control, ISOFIX mounts and rear parking sensors. For iCNG versions, Tata lists dedicated safeguards including leak detection, thermal incident protection and rear crash protection.

Electronic stability control, traction control, hill hold and tyre pressure monitoring are available from the Pure+ trim onwards. Creative adds a 360-degree camera with multiple 2D and 3D views, while the Accomplished variant includes a dashcam recorder. The equipment lineup also includes a Blind View Monitor.

Prices Start At Rs 5.29 Lakh

The Aeris is available in Smart, Pure, Pure+, Creative and Accomplished trims. Its 1.2-litre Revotron petrol engine is offered with manual and AMT transmissions, while the twin-cylinder iCNG lineup also provides both gearbox choices.

Petrol prices range from Rs 5.29 lakh to Rs 8.74 lakh, while iCNG variants cost Rs 6.29 lakh to Rs 9.74 lakh. Depending on the variant, buyers get features such as ventilated front seats, a 10.25-inch touchscreen, wireless smartphone connectivity, automatic climate control and wireless charging.

Tata has positioned the Aeris exclusively for private buyers, stating that it will not enter the fleet segment. It joins the compact sedan market alongside the Maruti Dzire, Hyundai Aura and Honda Amaze.
