Mahindra Scorpio Lifestyler Spied In South Africa

Mahindra Auto unveiled their new pickup truck version of Scorpio N SUV recently. Called the Scorpio Lifestyler, it has a starting price of Rs 19.89 lakh (Ex-sh) for India. Scorpio nameplate is expanding to appeal to a wider range of audiences outside of the SUV realm. Deliveries will start in April 2027

Testing of Mahindra Scorpio Lifestyler is going on in full swing here in India, but global markets will get it as Mahindra Lifestyler. Both will be manufactured here in India and Lifestyler will be shipped to global markets and South Africa is one of them. Latest spy shots come from Johannesburg, near Carnival City Mall.

Outside of India, Mahindra Lifestyler is expected to make a grand entrance in markets like Australia, New Zealand, South Africa, Latin America, Middle East and other African countries. It is a mid-size pickup truck and is the spiritual successor of Scorpio Getaway, catering to adventure and lifestyle oriented buyers along with farm owners and engineers.

Latest spy shots of Lifestyler come from Johannesburg, South Africa, fully covered in camouflage. It shows a hint of production-spec elements seen at the grand unveiling. It has the new and dominating grille, vertically oriented LED fog lights, LED DRLs and LED headlights above them, a flat bonnet, a hint of a large Mahindra badge in the grille, among others.

Scorpio N’s silhouette can be seen till the rear doors and everything behind rear doors is a load bed. This is not a flat bed and has wheel well intrusions, but it is physically detached from the passenger shell, like in mid-size pickups. This particular test mule did not have any roof racks and the wheels were similar to what we saw at the unveiling event in Mumbai.

Elements like chunky wheel arch claddings, 18-inch alloy wheels, 255-section tyres, frequency dependent dampers, a dedicated steering wheel, an all new dashboard with vertically laid-out AC vents, a large portrait-style infotainment screen, landscape-style TFT instrument cluster, dual zone climate control, driver monitoring, sunroof, ventilated seats, surround cameras, sophisticated ADAS suite and more, are expected to be onboard of Mahindra Lifestyler.

New Portrait Screen, New Dashboard

When unveiled, Mahindra Scorpio Lifestyler (for India, Mahindra Lifestyler globally) featured an all-new dashboard along with an all-new portrait style infotainment screen. However, none of the test mules spied, had this new portrait-style screen on the dashboard. Even the test mule spied in Johannesburg does not have the portrait-style screen.

Instead, it seems to have the same 10.25-inch screen which the current Scorpio N SUV has. Future test mules could show the upcoming portrait-style screen. There is a probability of Mahindra offering this portrait-style infotainment screen as standard, similar to the triple screen layout offered as standard on XUV7XO and XEV 9S.

Mahindra Scorpio Lifestyler

Powering the Scorpio Lifestyler will be the same engine options as other Mahindra offerings including Scorpio N SUV. These include the 2.0L Turbo Petrol and 2.2L Turbo Diesel. Both manual and automatic gearbox options will be offered and 4X4 transfer case along with Terrain Modes will be offered at least as an option.
