New Tata Tigor Facelift Launch Expected In a Few Weeks

Upcoming Tigor facelift will borrow multiple features from the Tiago facelift that was launched in May 2026

A few months back, Tata launched the new Tiago (ICE + EV) with comprehensive updates. Next in the launch queue is Tigor facelift. It is expected to get a similar set of updates as seen with the Tiago facelift. While the official date has not been revealed, it is expected that the new Tigor could be launched in coming weeks ahead of the start of festive season.

Tigor facelift – Exterior updates

Earlier this year in June, Tata filed the design patent for Tigor facelift. It revealed an evolved version of the Tigor, which now has a more premium feel and SUV-like upright stance. Features like the new sleek headlamps with integrated DRLs and the connecting trim element in a glossy black finish are the same as that of the new Tiago.

However, the bumper section is entirely new and features vertical and horizontal slats. It is larger and has sharper lines, as compared to the curvier profile of the current model. These changes ensure a more robust presence for the sedan. It can be advantageous at a time when there’s growing preference for SUVs in India.

Another key update could be a front camera, which can be part of a 360-degree camera setup. Side profile has relatively fewer changes such as new alloy wheels. ORVMs could get cameras, part of the 360-degree surround view monitor system. At the rear, Tigor facelift is expected to get revised taillamps and an interconnecting trim element. Bumper features a fresh design that is flatter and clutter-free.

Interior updates

Inside, Tata Tigor facelift is expected to borrow several of the features available with the new Tiago. Updates could include a larger floating touchscreen infotainment system and a new digital instrument cluster. For context, the Tiago facelift has a 10.25-inch touchscreen display. Other updates expected include a premium steering wheel, wireless Android Auto and Apple CarPlay and wireless phone charging.

New Tigor facelift could also get Type-C charging ports, auto folding ORVMs and a 360-degree camera. Safety kit could be improved with 6 airbags as standard across all variants. Tigor EV facelift is expected to get a similar set of updates, along with some EV-specific features. Several of the features for Tigor EV facelift could be borrowed from the Tiago EV facelift.

Powertrain options

Tigor facelift is expected to continue with the existing powertrain options. The ICE variant is offered with a 1.2-litre petrol engine that generates 86 PS and 113 Nm of torque. Tigor is also available with factory-fitted CNG kit. This variant generates 75.5 PS and 96.5 Nm. Transmission choices for both engines include 5-speed manual and 5-speed AMT.

While not official, sources reveal that AMT variants of Tigor facelift could get paddle shifters. Coming to the Tigor EV facelift, the battery and motor options are expected to be the same as the new Tiago EV. The latter has battery pack options of 19 kWh and 24 kWh. Range figures could be slightly different due to the size difference between Tiago and Tigor.
