Upcoming Mahindra BE 7 Spied Charging – New Clearer Spy Shots
by Akshay Kulkarni · RushLaneMahindra Auto has been testing and developing BE 7 for some time now and there have been multiple spy shots of it. Latest ones show BE 7 from close proximity and in much greater detail than before. There are two XEVs in the portfolio, but only one BE offering, which will change soon with BE 7. Launch timeline is not known yet and 2027 could be the year.
Mahindra BE 7 Spied Charging
The latest spy shots of Mahindra BE 7 show it plugged into a public charger somewhere in Karnataka state, presumed Bengaluru. There are two different camouflage themes used with BE 7 test mules – a Black and White and then this, a mix of White and Violet, done in an interesting pattern. The latest spy shots from charging station have the latter.
Charging flap is on the rear left quarter panel, where one would usually see a fuel filler cap. Other Mahindra Electric Origin SUVs have their charging ports around the same vicinity. When compared to BE 6 on sale, we can see that BE 7 will be a much larger vehicle and then, packs much fancier attributes too.
For starters, you can see frameless doors, making BE 7 India’s first mainstream vehicle to offer this fancy design element. There will be some some sort of mechanism in the windows where they automatically wind down a little when door is open and then wind up automatically after doors are shut.
Fully Pop-Out Door Handles
Another fancy feature we can see is flush door handles that function differently than other flush door handles from Mahindra. In every other Mahindra flush door handles, they pop out electrically from one side only. So, in lower variants users have to press one end to pop the other end manually. In BE 7, the entire door handle is mechanised and it fully pops out, as seen in the pictures. This new mechanism looks like it is similar to what we see in Tesla and BYD offerings.
Massive C-shaped LED DRL and tail light signatures, angular design language, clamshell bonnet, clamshell tail gate, sporty spoiler, neatly hidden rear washer and wiper in spoiler, chunky bumpers, upright windscreen and other elements are notable. Mahindra usually puts reversing camera near the numberplate, but we can see two cameras in BE 7’s spoiler, which suggests a digital IRVM.
Inside, BE 7 dashboard will be closer to its concept form. No halo loop around the driver, but centre console and sporty seats might be similar to BE 6. There will be three screens as confirmed by previous spy shots. Other expected attributes are ventilated seats, 1400W 16 speaker Harman system, Adrenox suite, Level-2+ ADAS, powered seats, fancy ambient lighting, auto parking features and more.
Powering the upcoming Mahindra BE 7 could be the same batteries as other Electric Origin SUVs – 59 kWh, 70 kWh and 79 kWh. Claimed range could be close to 700 km and 500 km real world range is a possibility. Up to 282 bhp in RWD single motor config is expected. There is a possibility of Mahindra introducing a dual motor option with BE 7 at launch.
