by Sagar Patel · RushLaneAhead of its October 26 launch, Hyundai has detailed Bayon’s reinforced body structure, Level 2 ADAS package and more than 35 standard safety features
Hyundai Motor India has revealed the safety equipment of the upcoming Bayon ahead of its launch on October 26, 2026. Positioned between the Venue and Creta, the new SUV will offer Hyundai SmartSense Level 2 Pro ADAS with 23 functions, alongside more than 35 safety features as standard across variants. Bookings are open for Rs 11,000 through Hyundai dealerships and its website.
Engineered For Five-Star Safety Standards
Bayon is built on Hyundai’s Global K Enhanced Platform. Its body structure uses 69% advanced multi-grade high-strength steel, incorporating hot-stamped components, ultra-high-strength steel, advanced high-strength steel and high-strength steel. Hyundai describes Bayon as “engineered for 5-Star Indian Safety Standards”.
Hot-stamped components are used in critical areas, including the front apron, dashboard, rear floor and side reinforcements. Hyundai says the rear-floor side members are designed to improve rear-impact protection, while a dual-box construction, multiple load paths and a ring-type structure help distribute collision forces and reduce cabin intrusion.
Level 2 Pro ADAS With 23 Functions
A key highlight is Hyundai SmartSense Level 2 Pro ADAS, which brings together 23 driver assistance functions. Hyundai lists 3 radars and 12 parking sensors as part of the vehicle’s sensing package.
The suite includes forward collision warning and collision-avoidance assistance for cars, pedestrians and cyclists. Junction-turning and direct-oncoming scenarios are also covered, alongside blind-spot collision warning and avoidance assistance.
For highway driving, Bayon gets Smart Cruise Control with Stop & Go, Lane Following Assist and Highway Driving Assist. Navigation-based Smart Cruise Control functions for curves and zones are also listed, although the supplied release does not explain the conditions attached to these navigation-dependent features.
Other functions include Lane Departure Warning, Lane Keeping Assist, Driver Attention Warning, High Beam Assist and Leading Vehicle Departure Alert. These systems provide driving assistance; the driver remains responsible for controlling the vehicle.
Surround View Monitor And Reversing Assistance
Bayon’s safety package also includes a Surround View Monitor and Blind-spot View Monitor. These provide additional visibility around the vehicle and display areas that can be difficult to observe through conventional mirrors.
Front parking sensors, Rear Cross-Traffic Collision Warning and Rear Cross-Traffic Collision-Avoidance Assist support manoeuvring and reversing. Safe Exit Warning is designed to alert occupants when an approaching vehicle is detected as they prepare to open a door.
Hyundai lists more than 80 safety features across the Bayon range. However, the release does not provide a variant-wise equipment breakdown, so the complete ADAS and camera package should not be assumed to be standard on every trim.
Six Airbags And ESC Standard Across Variants
More than 35 safety features will be standard across all variants. These include six airbags, Electronic Stability Control, Hill-Start Assist Control, a rollover sensor, tyre pressure monitoring, ISOFIX mounts and rear parking sensors.
Three-point seatbelts and seatbelt reminders, Emergency Stop Signal, a burglar alarm and a headlamp escort function are also included in the standard equipment list. All-wheel disc brakes are mentioned in the overall safety package, although their variant-wise availability is not specified.
Petrol Engine, 10 Colours And October 26 Launch
Hyundai has reconfirmed that Bayon will use a four-cylinder, 1.5-litre MPi petrol engine producing 115 PS and 143.8 Nm. Transmission choices will comprise a six-speed manual and an IVT automatic.
Buyers will have 10 exterior colour options. Six monotone shades include Titanium Black, Classy Blue, Atlas White, Fiery Red, Golden Bronze and Ecotronic Grey. Atlas White and Fiery Red will also be offered with a black roof, while Titanium Black Matte and Classy Blue Matte complete the palette. Prices will be announced at launch on October 26.
