BYD Denza Z9 GT Spied In India Before Launch – 1150 bhp, 1200 Nm

After Sealion 7, BYD India is expanding its presence in the country to include the Denza luxury brand. Two Denza vehicles are expected to launch in India – D9 luxury MPV and Z9 GT high-performance electric shooting brake. Both these vehicles are already patented in India and they’re set to launch on 13th November 2026.

Ahead of their formal launch, a BYD Denza Z9 GT has been spied in India in its signature Green colour and will be positioned as a high-performance flagship Estate or Shooting Brake vehicle. Prices will be revealed on the launch date.

BYD Denza Z9 GT Spied Before Launch

While the prices are not yet revealed, BYD is set to launch Denza luxury brand in the country. In China, prices of BYD Denza Z9 GT start from CNY 329,800 (approx Rs 46.74 lakh) for base PHEV variant and go till CNY 369,800 (approx Rs 52.41 lakh) for top-spec fully electric variant. Called EV e3 Performance, this top-spec variant packs a 122.5 kWh battery with triple motors for a peak power of 1,156 bhp and 1210 Nm, promising up to 1,036 km range (CLTC).

Denza Z9 GT is so powerful, the company promises a 0-100 km/h sprint in just 2.7 seconds and the top speed is rated at 270 km/h, depending on the market. Dimensionally, BYD Denza Z9 GT PHEV measures 5,195 mm in length, 1,990 mm in width, 1,500 mm in height and has a 3,125 mm long wheelbase. Rear wheel steering feature is also present with Denza Z9 GT allowing for crab-walking and other manoeuvres.

Will India Get PHEV Version?

Denza Z9 GT EV version is slightly shorter in length measuring 5,180 mm and shares all of the other dimensions with PHEV version. There is a lower-tier PHEV version for Denza Z9 GT which packs BYD’s DM 5.0 Technology. It consists of a 204 bhp 2.0L IC engine along with a 38.51 kWh Blade battery pack.

Pure electric range of PHEV version is 201 km and total system range is 1,100 km. There are three electric motors with combined output of up to 1000 bhp and 1,035 Nm torque, promising 0-100 km/h sprint in 3.6s. The unit spied in India without any camouflage does not reveal whether it is the PHEV or the full-fat high-performance offering.

Shooting Brake Design

BYD’s Denza Z9 GT flaunts the Elegance In Motion design language with swooping lines and wide LED signatures, flush door handles, long bonnet, sloping roofline, split roof spoiler, a diffuser, wraparound tail lights, large alloy wheels and more. Denza Z9 GT’s interior has three displays – a 17.3-inch infotainment, 13.2-inch instrumentation and a 13.2-inch screen for passenger. A 50-inch HUD is present as well.

Denza Z9 GT gets electrically operated doors and all seats are electrically operated, heated, ventilated and offer massage. A large panoramic sunroof, exquisite materials, premium Devialet audio system, extensive sound deadening, rear privacy glass, dual 50W wireless charging pads, hidden AC vents, multi-zone climate control, a floating centre console, 4-spoke steering wheel and 128-colour ambient lighting, are notable features.
