Toyota Glanza Facelift To Launch On Oct 14th – Same Updates As Baleno?

The strategic partnership between Maruti Suzuki and Toyota is expected to expand further with Toyota Glanza facelift launching next month. The updates to Toyota’s only hatchback in India comes after the launch of Baleno facelift. Both Baleno and Glanza are badge-engineered products and they’re practically the same vehicles.

After the launch of Baleno facelift, Glanza facelift is set to follow soon. Glanza facelift is set to make an appearance on 14th October, around a month after Baleno’s launch. When launched, Glanza facelift will continue to take on rivals like Tata Altroz and Hyundai i20 along with its badge-engineered counterpart, Maruti Suzuki Baleno.

Toyota Glanza Facelift

Being the badge-engineered version of Baleno, Toyota Glanza facelift is expected to carry a unique fascia over the Baleno. This is a strategy that Toyota has been using to maintain a unique look with Glanza and we can expect Glanza facelift to come with projector LED headlights as current model.

We wish Toyota Glanza facelift dials down the polarisation in terms of design which we saw with Baleno facelift. Glanza could use a different grille at the front and it is expected to carry forward the same LED projector headlights and 16” alloy wheels as current Glanza. These are different from what Maruti offers with the Baleno.

On the inside, most of the interiors are likely to be carried forward, while adding a bunch of useful features and creature comforts along the way. Primary of these is the ventilated front seats which is a boon for Indian climatic conditions. Then Qi standard for the wireless charging pad with active cooling.

Other notable update will be Clarion tuned speakers, which we wish are better with Glanza than they are in Baleno. But that is unlikely. The main feature update could be the addition of Level 2 ADAS which brings up to 8 autonomous features including auto emergency braking, lane keep assist, auto high beam assist and adaptive cruise control as well.

New 3-cylinder engine

Under the bonnet, new Toyota Glanza facelift is expected to share the same 1.2L 3-cylinder engine that we saw with Swift. Dzire and then Baleno facelift. While the performance and overall refinement is slightly reduced when compared to previous 1.2L 4-cylinder engine, there is an increase in fuel efficiency of up to 6%, which should be the same or similar with Glanza facelift as well.

CNG bi-fuel powertrain option is likely to be offered too, promising lower running costs, but the CNG tank implementation will be a single-cylinder setup similar to current Glanza and Baleno facelift. Gearbox options will be either a 5-speed Manual or a 5-speed AMT.
