Skoda Kodiaq RS India Bookings Open June 22 – 265 PS AWD CBU SUV
by Sagar Patel · RushLaneSkoda Auto India has officially announced the launch of the all-new Kodiaq RS SUV. Bookings for the performance-focused flagship SUV will open on June 22, 2026. The Kodiaq RS marks an important milestone for the brand, becoming the first-ever seven-seater Skoda in India to wear the iconic RS badge.
The arrival of Kodiaq RS further expands Skoda’s growing RS portfolio in India. Following the success of Octavia RS, which sold out within minutes of launch, the company is now bringing its most powerful SUV to Indian enthusiasts.
Skoda Kodiaq RS India Launch
Commenting on the announcement, Ashish Gupta, Brand Director, Skoda Auto India, said, “The RS badge carries over 50 years of global performance legacy and a fiercely loyal following in India since the Octavia RS arrived more than two decades ago. The latest Octavia RS, launched last year, sold out in just 20 minutes, highlighting its cult status among enthusiasts. Now, we’re taking that legacy forward with the Kodiaq RS, our first-ever seven-seater in India to wear the iconic RS badge and the quickest Skoda yet in the country.”
Unlike the standard Kodiaq, the RS version will arrive in India as a CBU import. Since the SUV is already on sale in several global markets, its specifications and equipment details are well known. Powering the Kodiaq RS is a 2.0-litre TSI Evo turbo petrol engine producing 265 PS and 400 Nm of torque. The engine is paired with a 7-speed DSG dual-clutch automatic transmission and standard all-wheel drive.
Compared to the previous-generation Kodiaq RS, power output has increased by 20 hp. Performance figures are equally impressive. The seven-seat SUV can sprint from 0-100 km/h in just 6.4 seconds and achieve a top speed of 231 km/h, making it the quickest Skoda currently headed to India.
Interestingly, the Kodiaq RS is arriving in India at a time when the SUV is already nearing its mid-cycle update globally. Spy shots of a facelifted Kodiaq have surfaced overseas, with reports suggesting a debut sometime in 2027. The updated model is expected to feature revised styling, interior upgrades and possible powertrain enhancements, with some reports indicating the RS variant could breach the 300 hp mark. However, for India, Skoda has chosen to bring the current-generation Kodiaq RS as a CBU, giving enthusiasts access to the brand’s performance flagship without waiting for the facelifted version.
Sportier Design, Rich Equipment List
The Kodiaq RS gets several visual upgrades over the standard model. These include RS-specific front bumper inserts, gloss black detailing on the grille, mirrors, window surrounds and rear badging, along with standard 20-inch alloy wheels and dual stainless steel exhaust outlets.
Inside, the cabin receives sports seats with integrated headrests, RS-specific steering wheel, stainless steel pedals and a dark interior theme highlighted by red contrast stitching. Suedia upholstery comes standard, while select markets also offer leather upholstery options.
The SUV is loaded with technology as well. Features available internationally include LED Matrix headlights, adaptive DCC Plus suspension, progressive steering, multiple drive modes, Canton premium audio system, acoustic glass and a large infotainment display paired with a fully digital instrument cluster.
Positioned As Performance Flagship
The Kodiaq RS sits at the top of the global Kodiaq lineup and will likely do the same in India. Along with its performance credentials, it retains the practicality of a three-row SUV and the added confidence of all-wheel drive. While pricing will be announced closer to launch, the Kodiaq RS is expected to be priced around Rs 60 lakhs.
