New Force Urbania Deluxe

Force Motors has launched new Urbania Deluxe in India at a starting price of Rs 28.7 lakh, ex-showroom. The updated premium van gets a more powerful diesel engine, upgraded interiors and additional safety and technology features. Urbania Deluxe will replace the existing Urbania and become the company’s standard offering in the premium shared mobility segment.

Force Urbania Deluxe – More Powerful Diesel Engine

Urbania is based on a ground-up modular monocoque platform and was developed primarily for premium shared passenger mobility. The van has since found applications across tourism, hospitality, corporate transportation and other commercial passenger segments.

New Urbania Deluxe is available in three wheelbase options and eight seating layouts. Depending on the configuration, seating capacity ranges from 9+D to 16+D. One of the key upgrades is under the bonnet.

Urbania Deluxe continues with a Mercedes-derived 2.6-litre, four-cylinder turbo diesel engine, but output has been increased to 100 kW (134 hp) and 350 Nm. Force Motors says the increased output is aimed at improving pickup, drivability and overall performance, particularly relevant for a vehicle designed to carry multiple passengers and their luggage.

Significant changes have also been made inside the cabin. Urbania Deluxe gets a new interior theme with leatherette seats and matching upholstery. Wood-finish flooring has been introduced to further differentiate the Deluxe version.

Another notable addition is a new TFT instrument cluster that displays real-time vehicle information and alerts. Infotainment duties are handled by a customised 9-inch HD touchscreen with smartphone connectivity. The system supports online and offline navigation, an HD reverse camera, voice alerts and hands-free Bluetooth calling. Passengers also get an 8-speaker Digital Theatre System (DTS).

USB Type-A and Type-C charging ports are available across all seating rows. A power-operated sliding footstep has also been added to make ingress and egress easier. On the outside, Urbania Deluxe gets new 16-inch alloy wheels.

Enhanced Safety Features

Force Motors has upgraded passenger safety with three-point seat belts for every occupant. The company says these are similar to the seat belts used in passenger cars, replacing simpler restraint systems traditionally associated with commercial passenger vehicles.

Other safety equipment includes driver and co-driver airbags, all-wheel disc brakes, Electronic Stability Program (ESP), ABS and Electronic Brake-force Distribution (EBD). Engine Drag Torque Control (ETDC) is also part of the package.

Urbania Deluxe is backed by Force Care, which includes the company’s i-Pulse connected telematics solution. Force Motors is offering a 5-year / 5 lakh km warranty, along with a three-year warranty on all sensors and three years of roadside assistance.
