Kia India registered 41% YoY growth in September, with quarterly sales rising 38.51% and January–September volumes crossing 2.53 lakh units

Kia India recorded its highest-ever monthly sales since entering the Indian market, with wholesale volumes reaching 32,017 units in September 2026. This represents 41.04% growth over 22,700 units in September 2025, adding 9,317 vehicles.

Sales also increased sequentially, rising 10.24% over the 29,042 units recorded in August 2026. Kia has now overtaken Toyota India for the 2nd consecutive month, and is the 5 largest selling car brand of India in Sep 2026.

Kia Quarterly Sales Rise 38.51%

For July–September 2026, Kia India reported sales of 89,259 units, compared with 64,443 units in the corresponding quarter last year. This translates to growth of 38.51%, or an additional 24,816 vehicles. Cumulative January–September sales reached 2,53,008 units, up from 2,06,582 units in the same period of 2025. Growth stood at 22.47%, with Kia adding 46,426 units over the nine-month period.

Seltos And Sonet Remain Key Contributors

Kia identified Seltos and Sonet as its main sales drivers. According to the company, the Seltos has averaged more than 10,000 units per month since the updated model’s January launch, while Sonet continues to contribute strongly in the sub-compact SUV segment.

Kia’s family vehicle portfolio, comprising Carens, Carens Clavis and Clavis EV, provides additional coverage across combustion-engine and electric options. The recently introduced Carens CNG and Carens Clavis CNG further expand the choices available to buyers.

Syros EV And Sorento Broaden Portfolio

Syros sales are picking up, thanks to the launch of EV version. Kia said the Syros EV continues to gain demand momentum, strengthening its presence in the electric vehicle market.

The newly launched Sorento has also received an encouraging customer response, according to Kia. Offered with diesel and hybrid powertrains, it adds another option for buyers seeking a larger, more premium vehicle.

Commenting on the results, Atul Sood, Senior Vice President, Sales & Marketing, Kia India, said Seltos and Sonet remained key contributors, while the response to Sorento and Syros EV supported the company’s expansion into new segments and powertrain categories.

EV Ownership Options And Network Expansion

Alongside its electric models, Kia offers ownership programmes covering acquisition costs, battery assurance and resale value. These include Battery-as-a-Service, an Assured Buyback programme and a Lifetime High Voltage Battery Warranty, subject to applicable terms.

The company’s network now spans 915 touchpoints across 425 cities, supporting sales, service and ownership needs. Kia also operates 137 Certified Pre-Owned outlets to facilitate used-car transactions and exchanges.
