Kia Carens Clavis EV Buyers Since 1st Aug Get Lifetime Unlimited Km Battery Warranty
by Pearl Daniels · RushLaneKia India has introduced a new long-term battery warranty for Carens Clavis EV, offering Lifetime (15 years) of unlimited kilometre coverage for the high-voltage battery. Kia calls it a Lifetime High Voltage Battery Warranty, with the new coverage applicable to vehicles retailed from August 1, 2026 onwards.
15 Years, Unlimited Kilometres For First Owner
High-voltage battery is one of the most expensive components of an EV, and its condition after several years of use remains an important consideration for buyers. Kia’s new warranty effectively removes the kilometre restriction on battery coverage for the first 15 years of ownership.
However, there are some important conditions. Importantly, the 15-year/unlimited km warranty applies only to the first private owner. The Lifetime High Voltage Battery Warranty does not provide the same coverage after a change in ownership.
For the second owner, battery warranty will be limited to 8 years or 1.60 lakh km, whichever comes earlier. Commercial vehicles such as taxis and fleet vehicles are also excluded from the 15-year/unlimited km programme and will receive the standard 8-year/1.60 lakh km battery warranty.
Existing Owners Can Upgrade For Rs 3,400
Kia has extended the programme to eligible Carens Clavis EV customers who bought their vehicles before August 1, 2026. Instead of remaining on the original 8-year/1.60 lakh km coverage, eligible owners can extend the high-voltage battery warranty to 15 years/unlimited kilometres by paying an administrative fee of Rs 3,400, inclusive of taxes. The extension is optional and subject to Kia’s terms and conditions as well as a vehicle evaluation at the dealership.
Carens Clavis EV Starts At Rs 18.04 Lakh
Carens Clavis EV is available with 42 kWh and 51.4 kWh battery options, with prices starting from Rs 18.04 lakh (ex-showroom). HTK Plus starts at Rs 18.04 lakh, while HTX E starts at Rs 20 lakh. HTX is priced from Rs 20.54 lakh, followed by HTX E ER from Rs 22.04 lakh and HTX ER from Rs 22.54 lakh. Some trims are available with multiple battery configurations.
The new warranty adds to Kia’s other EV ownership initiatives, including Battery-as-a-Service (BaaS). Kia also offers its K-Charge ecosystem, providing access to more than 20,300 charging points from 23 charge-point operators. More than 129 Kia dealerships are equipped with high-capacity DC fast chargers, while over 275 workshops are EV-ready.
Speaking on the announcement, Atul Sood, Senior Vice President, Sales & Marketing, Kia India, said, “At Kia, our focus has always been on making electric mobility more accessible, dependable and rewarding for our customers. The Lifetime High Voltage Battery Warranty for the Carens Clavis EV reflects our confidence in the quality and durability of our battery technology and strengthens the long-term value of owning a Kia EV.
Extending this enhanced battery assurance to eligible existing Clavis EV customers reflects our commitment to being there for them throughout their ownership journey. By addressing one of the biggest considerations for EV buyers, we’re giving our customers the confidence to embrace electric mobility with complete peace of mind.”
