Hyundai recorded its highest-ever combined monthly domestic and export sales in September, with Bayon bookings set to support festive-season interest

Hyundai Motor India recorded total sales of 77,916 units in September 2026, marking its highest-ever monthly volume since inception. Combined domestic sales and exports grew 10.8% YoY, surpassing the company’s previous record achieved in July 2026. Domestic sales stood at 57,166 units, while exports contributed 20,750 units.

Hyundai Domestic Sales Rise 10.9%

Hyundai’s domestic sales increased from 51,547 units in September 2025 to 57,166 units last month. This represents a gain of 5,619 units, translating to 10.90% YoY growth. Sequential performance also improved. Compared with 54,396 units in August 2026, domestic sales increased by 2,770 units or 5.09%. September therefore delivered growth on both annual and monthly comparisons.

Exports Cross 20,000 Units

Hyundai exported 20,750 vehicles in September 2026, compared with 18,800 units a year earlier. This translates to an increase of 1,950 units or 10.37%, rounded to 10.4% in the company’s announcement. Combined sales rose from 70,347 units in September 2025 to 77,916 units, adding 7,569 units.

Third-Quarter Sales Reach 2.19 Lakh Units

For the July–September 2026 quarter, Hyundai’s combined sales stood at 2,19,072 units, compared with 1,83,375 units in the corresponding quarter last year. This represents growth of 19.47%, with an additional 35,697 vehicles.

Domestic sales drove most of the quarterly increase, reaching 1,65,772 units against 1,31,975 units in Q3 2025. Volumes increased by 33,797 units or 25.61%. Quarterly exports stood at 53,300 units, up from 51,400 units a year earlier, registering 3.70% growth. The figures indicate that domestic operations contributed approximately 95% of the overall quarterly volume gain.

Commenting on the results, Tarun Garg, MD and CEO, Hyundai Motor India, said the performance reflected the appeal of the company’s portfolio across domestic and overseas markets. He also confirmed that September’s total surpassed the previous monthly record set in July.

Bayon Bookings Add To Festive-Season Plans

Hyundai expects customer interest to remain strong during the festive season. Garg highlighted the opening of bookings for the upcoming Hyundai Bayon as another development expected to support that momentum. Bayon will introduce a new nameplate to Hyundai’s India portfolio. After that, Hyundai will be launching an all new sub 4m electric SUV.
