New Bentley Torcal Electric SUV Debuts – 888 PS, 600 Km Range, 0–100 In 2.9s, 260 Kmph Top Speed

Bentley’s first fully electric model arrives in standard and S versions, featuring a 113 kWh battery, fully active suspension and a handcrafted driving soundtrack

Bentley has unveiled the all-new Torcal in London, introducing its first fully electric vehicle and fourth model line. Designed, engineered and built in Crewe, the luxury SUV adds an electric option alongside the brand’s existing combustion-engine and hybrid offerings.

Available in standard and sportier S versions, Torcal delivers up to 888 PS and 1,350 Nm of torque. Bentley claims a range of up to 600 km on the WLTP cycle, alongside rapid charging and its most advanced chassis technology to date.

Bentley Torcal – Performance And Range

The standard Torcal produces 821 PS and 1,194 Nm, enabling a 0–100 km/h sprint in 3.4 seconds and a top speed of 250 km/h. Torcal S increases output to 888 PS and 1,350 Nm with Launch Control active, reducing the sprint time to 2.9 seconds. Its top speed is 260 km/h.

Both versions use a dual-motor electric powertrain. The rear motor features a locking differential with a multi-plate clutch on each output shaft. A 113 kWh usable battery operates on an 800V architecture and supports charging at up to 400 kW. Bentley says approximately 161 km of range can be added in seven minutes under suitable conditions. The battery carries a 10-year, 100,000-mile warranty.

Active Suspension And Rear-Wheel Steering

Torcal introduces fully active suspension to Bentley’s lineup. Each damper can independently raise or lower its corner of the vehicle, responding to road conditions and driver inputs. The system also manages body roll without conventional anti-roll bars.

Rear-wheel steering is standard, offering up to five degrees of steering angle and helping achieve an 11.1-metre turning circle. Braking comes from 420 mm front and 370 mm rear discs, with an optional carbon-ceramic setup increasing these to 440 mm and 410 mm respectively.

New Design, Five-Metre Length

The Torcal introduces a new design direction while retaining familiar Bentley proportions and prominent rear haunches. Highlights include an illuminated diamond grille, a tapering cabin and rear styling influenced by the EXP 15 concept.

Measuring five metres long, it is Bentley’s shortest four-door model. Luggage capacity comprises a 460-litre boot and a separate 90-litre front compartment. The standard model gets 21-inch wheels, while the S rides on 22-inch alloys. Torcal S also adds black exterior trim, dark rear lamps, red brake calipers and sportier bumper, sill and diffuser treatments.

Powered Doors, OLED Screens And Luxury Seating

Inside, Torcal combines curved OLED displays with physical controls on the centre console and steering wheel. Standard seats offer 16-way adjustment, heating, ventilation, adjustable bolsters and massage. Optional seating technology can make subtle posture adjustments and regulate seat temperature.

Four radar-controlled powered doors can open and close automatically. The driver can close their door by pressing the brake pedal, while passengers can initiate closure by fastening their seat belts.

Other features include facial recognition for loading driver preferences, an augmented-reality head-up display and a switchable-glass sunroof. Parking assistance includes app-based remote parking and the ability to learn specific manoeuvres. The vehicle can also reverse automatically to a previously identified passing point when encountering an obstruction on a narrow road.

V8-Inspired Sound Created By Musicians

An unusual highlight is Bentley Dynamic Symphony, a driving soundtrack created using instruments including drums, viola and bass guitar. Inspired by the rhythm of Bentley’s V8, it responds to torque demand and vehicle speed, becoming more prominent in Sport mode. Drivers can also switch it off.

Cabin material choices include Merino wool, leather, wood veneers and aluminium finishes. An optional 1,780W Naim system adds 28 speakers, headrest speakers and seat shakers. Bentley has not specified pricing, customer delivery dates or India availability in the announcement.
