Superdrug confirms opening at Nottinghamshire retail park
by Rucsandra Moldoveanu · NottinghamshireLiveA new health and beauty store will open its doors at a retail park in a Nottinghamshire town. Superdrug has confirmed the opening of one of its branches at Chilwell Retail Park, Chilwell.
A planning application submitted to Broxtowe Borough Council in January revealed that Greggs could also join the retail park. It would take over part of the unit currently occupied by Poundstretcher.
Owners of the park, Corona Vulcan Chilwell, confirmed the unit has been divided so it can house two businesses. The firm explained it had been looking for a new occupier for the space since 2021, but has not been able to find a tenant which required the entire unit.
It is understood Superdrug will take over the other part of the same unit. A spokesperson for the health and beauty retailer said: "We can confirm that a new Superdrug will be opening at the Chilwell Retail Park later this year as part of our store investment strategy and look forward to welcoming customers to the new store."
According to the planning application submitted in January, Greggs would occupy the smaller 2,000sqft part of the unit, while Superdrug, which was not named in the application, would take over the 7,400sqft one.
