An M&S Foodhall is due to close next week and will remain closed for five weeks while it undergoes a revamp and refurbishment.

The M&S Foodhall at West Bridgford will close on Saturday, October 19 and reopen again on Tuesday, November 27. It means that the store will not be be able to supply Christmas food to order this year, according to its Facebook site after a customer inquiry.

M&S store manager Martin Kirkpatrick remarked: "Not this year, as we are about to go through an exciting refit. The shop will be absolutely amazing. It will return next year as the business is changing the process for next year."

The store, in Albert Road, has also been undergoing other external changes also including a new single storey extension to accommodate a trolley enclosure and customer entrance, for which planning permission was given in July. It is replacing an existing glazed entrance canopy and two sets of polycarbonate trolley bays.

The store was also given the go-ahead in September to site new illuminated signage around the perimeter of the building and also the car park indicating that going forward the outlet will be know as M&S Food and not M&S Foodhall. It is proposed to install a new, curved illuminated sign to replace existing signage above the customer entrance in Albert Road.

Additionally, a new M&S Food bus stop sign will be installed to replace the existing bus stop sign.

A social media message on Facebook said: "We'll Be Back Soon. We closing for a refresh on 19th October. Your new & improved store opens November 2024."
