ITV Corrie fans 'work out' DS Swain's mystery 'issue' after spotting worrying sign

Coronation Street viewers are convinced they have worked out what is wrong with DS Lisa Swain after she sparked concern in the latest episode of the ITV soap

Coronation Street viewers believe they've figured out what's troubling DS Lisa Swain. In the latest episode, DS Swain, portrayed by Vicky Myers, raised eyebrows as she appeared distracted and nearly vomited at one point.

The episode featured Dee-Dee Bailey, played by Channique Sterling-Brown, receiving a strange voice message from her wicked ex Joel Deering, enacted by Calum Lill, which DS Swain suspected could be a suicide note. Viewers will remember that Joel was recently exposed for his heinous crimes, leading to his arrest and his fiancée Dee-Dee calling off their wedding.

Later in Monday's episode, fellow officer Kit Green (Jacob Roberts) announced he had a lead on Joel's location, where they found his car parked near a bridge with a folded note on the dashboard, leading DS Swain to fear he may have taken his own life. However, Dee-Dee was sceptical of the police's theory and decided to investigate the crime scene herself.

After consulting with Joel's previous victim, Lauren Bolton (Cait Fitton), about the location image she had tracked of Joel, Dee-Dee discovered a small car hidden in the woods. She immediately informed DS Swain, who promised to investigate.

Later, while searching Joel's flat, DS Swain and Kit found the notebook the evil solicitor used for his note, realising it was all premeditated, reports the Liverpool Echo.

As the plot thickened on Coronation Street, Dee-Dee remained adamant that Joel had staged his own disappearance. However, a twist came when Kit received a call confirming Joel's car was found with his DNA and a laptop inside.

DS Swain seemed troubled throughout the episode, prompting fans to speculate wildly on Twitter. One viewer tweeted: "Could Swain know something? #Corrie", while another suggested: "Swain's killed him. That's why his getaway car is still there #Corrie".

The theories didn't stop there, with one fan pondering: "Has Swain... killed Joel? The phone thing, the arm injury, the gagging after breaking the news... Guys? #Swarla #Corrie" and another asking: "Did Swain kill Joel, is that why she got hurt? ? ? #Corrie."
