Nottinghamshire snow hour-by-hour weather as 'severe frost' predicted after disruption

Severe frost and freezing temperatures are expected in Nottinghamshire with snow causing disruption across the county. A Met Office yellow weather warning for snow and ice came into force at 7pm on Monday (November 18), with snow falling that evening in areas ranging from Retford to Burton Joyce.

The 16-hour weather warning remains in place until 11am on Tuesday (November 19). Buses, trains and trams all experienced delays in Nottinghamshire and some schools closed as a result of the snow.

The Met Office now says that no further snow is expected in Nottingham for the remainder of Tuesday, but that wintry conditions will return this evening. The weather agency says in its outlook for the East Midlands tonight: "Isolated showers of sleet and snow may feed in across North Sea coastal areas this evening and overnight. Remaining dry further inland.

"Severe overnight frost, particularly for rural areas Minimum temperature -3 °C." Looking ahead to the rest of the week, the Met Office adds: "Remaining cold with sharp overnight frosts and some further ice and snow.

"Bright spells Thursday and Friday. Very wet and windy Saturday; risk of persistent rain turning to snow." Below is the hour-by-hour Met Office forecast for Nottinghamshire on Tuesday (November 19).
