A board game café based in Nottingham city centre thanked its customers for the "great times" as it announced its closure. Ludorati Café Bar, situated in Maid Marian Way, said the upcoming weekend would likely be its last in an emotional update on Thursday, October 24.

Announcing the closure of the venue, which boasts a library of more than 1,000 games, the café said it was experiencing delays in financial support. It also described Nottingham as becoming an increasingly "part-time city" which was "severely impacting on Ludorati’s operation".

"We had hoped to continue to support the venue through Covid Interruption insurance claim, but to date this remains unpaid, and a separate international investment in L-technology though this has stalled at the Home Office," the venue's management said.

Ludorati, which also has an in-house escape room, said it would be organising a huge sale over the weekend. "As such, we’re hoping that many of you will be able to visit us one final time over the coming days Friday 25th – Sunday 27th, as we also have a huge sale of retail and ex-library games. Thank you for the great times," it wrote.
