Craig Revel-Horwood described Chris McCausland's performance as "spectacular" on this week's Strictly Come Dancing. McCausland, the show's first blind contestant and now aged 47, has wowed both the judges and viewers with his performances alongside Dianne Buswell, wheeling in a lights-off section during their latest dance and earning a high score of 33 from the panel.
The comedian has fast become the favourite to win the esteemed Glitterball Trophy, showcasing some impressive steps.
Chris fondly speaks of the energy his Brazilian wife Patricia adds to their marriage. Speaking with Gyles Brandreth on the Rosebud podcast, he shared insights into their dynamic: "We were very opposite," Chris explained.

"She comes across as very British but she's Brazilian, she came across when she was five or six. Her life is chaos in the way that Brazilian people are chaos. It's a natural attribute of their being that they are very proud of - they bring chaos to any room."
He amusingly recounted moments where Patricia's interactions with her mother sounded intense even during conversations: "The number of times she'll be talking in Portuguese to her mum and then I'll say to her: 'Are you okay? What happened there?' It sounds like they had the most horrific argument and they're just talking about what they're going to do that day," reports the Mirror.
The pair's relationship began back in 2005 when they met at the Edinburgh Fringe Festival. At the time, Chris, now known for his role in CBeebies Me Too!, was performing, while Patricia was there filming a documentary.
Chris reminisced about their early days, saying: "We spent a lot of time together when the camera wasn't running, socialising, going out and doing things, and we just had a lot of fun."
The celebrity has opened up about his marriage, describing his wife as "full of energy" and someone who "took me out of my comfort zone". He credits himself with making her laugh and being "almost this calming presence in her life that she was attracted to".
Married to Patricia for 12 years, they share an 11-year-old daughter named Sophie. Sophie, who is seldom seen in the public eye, featured alongside her father on Comedians: Home Alone in 2020, where she was captured giggling at something Chris said while sitting at the kitchen table, with Chris appearing comfortable in a blue T-shirt.
Turning to the couple's domestic life, Chris disclosed that he and Patricia often clash over household temperatures. "As you can imagine, we are very different in terms of our culture and our biological response to temperature," he quipped.
While Patricia might need a winter coat even when it's 22 degrees and sunny, Chris struggles once the mercury rises above 26 degrees. He humorously suggested that their differing temperature preferences could lead to a dramatic scene: "I believe there's a high likelihood that one of us might be discovered lifeless in the hallway one day, reaching out towards the thermostat, while the other has fled the country."
