ITV I'm A Celebrity viewers 'sick of it' as they fume minutes into second episode
by Charlotte Tutton · NottinghamshireLiveViewers tuning into the second episode of I'm A Celebrity 2024 on ITV1 on Monday evening were left frustrated within minutes. Some fans expressed their annoyance, claiming they were "sick of it" as they reacted to the start of the show.
Ant McPartlin and Dec Donnelly returned to host the new series in the jungle, with celebrities including Danny Jones, Coleen Rooney, and Alan Halsall adapting to camp life. As the second episode began on Monday night, GK Barry was featured undertaking the first solo Bushtucker Trial of the series.
However, before the task could fully commence, the show cut to adverts, interrupting the momentum. Viewers lamented the timing of the adverts, which came just as the excitement was building.
Calls for ITV to reduce the number of ads during the show, particularly during the trials, were loud among viewers. Fans pleaded with the bosses to alter the format, desiring more camp action and fewer ads.
One viewer sarcastically commented: "Cue the adverts," while another complained: "Too many adverts, more ads than actual camp action.", reports the Mirror.
A third viewer suggested: "Would be so much better without the adverts. More screen time, less adverts = more viewers."
Another added: "Sick of it being adverts just as we're getting to the good bits of the show."
This comes amid concerns from fans that one celebrity might exit the jungle only days into the new series. GK Barry was seen screaming through her first jungle challenge in the launch episode, evidently petrified.
In the latest jungle challenge, celebrities were tasked with finding a key hidden inside a Hell Hole on the river bank to release a boat. Each Hell Hole contained multiple keys, along with a variety of bugs and critters to truly immerse them in the jungle experience.
GK Barry was seen in a state of panic, flailing her arm as she searched for the key while contending with the creepy crawlies. Her screams for Jane Moore continued until she realised all the boats had been taken.
Viewers, observing her reaction to the bugs and challenges, doubted GK Barry's ability to endure the jungle conditions. Some fans expressed certainty that she would exit the show within days.
One viewer commented: "GK Barry won't survive 48 hours the rate she's going."
while another concurred: "Either GK Barry Or Colleen will walk out week one trust me," and a third remarked: "GK Barry isn't gonna last two days."
However, some held a more optimistic view, suggesting a potential turnaround, with one fan stating: "One episode in and GK Barry is already my winner."
Others found her antics entertaining, with comments like: "GK Barry is tooo funny," and "GK Barry is my favourite already! Hilarious."
