BBC Strictly Come Dancing's Gorka Marquez's savage new role outside of show

BBC Strictly Come Dancing enthusiasts were taken aback upon discovering Gorka Marquez's role outside of the dance contest. Gorka, a beloved and talented professional dancer on Strictly, is best known for his performances on the show.

The Spanish star was the fifth to be eliminated from the competition alongside his celebrity dance partner Dr. Punam Krishan. However, when he's not gracing the Strictly stage, he serves as a judge on the Spanish version of the competition, Bailando Con Las Estrellas.

On this show, viewers witness a different side of him as he delivers straightforward criticism, even causing a star to storm off set after receiving a low score of two. Kai Widdrington, during an episode of It Takes Two, shed light on his friend's new role.

He revealed: "Earlier this year, Spain relaunched Bailando Con Las Estrellas."

"It is hosted by Argentinian model Valeria Mazza and one of Spain's well-known presenters, Jesús Vázquez. There are not three, not four, but five judges, including Blanca Li, journalist and writer Boris Izaguire, director of musicals Julia Gomez Cora, Antonia Dell'ate, and the fifth judge, I think you may recognise - it's our very own Gorka Marquez.", reports the Mirror.

Gorka shared a 'savage' moment from the show where he gave Spanish star Athenea a score of two out of ten. The star and her partner exited the stage after receiving the low score and refused to be filmed.

Fortunately, she returned for the second half of the show.

"Where do I start? I'm a little speechless, and not because it was good. It's more bad than good," Gorka remarked to the celebrity in Spanish. His candid approach left viewers at home stunned, prompting one fan to post on Twitter: "Gorka's a judge in Spain? Why did I not know that? " Speaking of his time on the show, Gorka expressed his enthusiasm: "I absolutely love it, I learned a lot that I can take with me as a professional now and to help the celebrities. I know what the judges want to see."

He shared with his followers that the most significant difference is the timing of the show. He explained: "It's much longer. It's on from 10pm to two in the morning. Then, when it comes to the couples, we don't know which order we'll dance in, so on the table there's an envelope, and she opens it and says, 'Next one will be.' Then, you have the time of the VT to get ready to dance. Then the other thing is the way they score."
